Electrical Power Quality: Power Factor Correction and Harmonic Filtering for mining applications
Power Quality problems encountered in mining applications, what creates them and what problems they cause and how these
problems lead to decreased productivity, increased costs and reduced revenue. This seminar will focus on Power Factor
correction and what particular considerations need to be taken in the age of Power Electronics. Additionally we will explain the
concept of Harmonic Distortion and describe how current distortion and voltage distortion are created, how they affect equipment
and process and how to mitigate their effects.
