2015 Summer Art Camp At the Cando Art Center August 3-7 with artist Ali LaRock A. Art Explosion! B. Animals, Animals, Animals For those who will be going into Kindergarten, First, or Second grade next year. Time:9:00-10:00, $15 Ages: For those who will be going into 2nd grade next year up to age 18. Time: 10:30-11:30, $15 Young Artists explore their creativity with an explosion of fun art materials and projects! Students will learn how to draw simple animals and faces, take their imagination for a walk, explore the basics of acrylic paint, use clay, build structures and strange creatures with wood and make colorful and interesting puppets. Have fun being with other animal lovers as you learn basic techniques on how to draw, paint, and sculpt your favorite animals and creatures! We will learn how to create both cartoon and realistic animals. C. Painting Studio D. Art Inspired by Food! Ages: For those who will be going into 3rd grade next year up to age 18. Time: 1:00-2:00, $15 Ages: For those who will be going into 3rd grade next year up to age 18. Time: 2:15-3:15, $15 Explore the world of paint as you learn basic and as well as adventurous techniques with acrylics and watercolors. Spray, brush, drip, or swat color on with a variety of brushes and tools. Paint on canvas, paper, and more. Self-expression is encouraged! Everyone loves food! All the projects in this class will be inspired by food in some way such as: creating cute or crazy food characters with drawing or sculpture, looking at actual food to create from, designing your own food product like a cereal box or candy, or even photographing real food in unique ways. We will look at images of food used in art throughout history. We may even eat some food along the way! E. Advanced Art Studio Ages: For students who will be going into 6th grade through age 18. Time: 3:45-5:15, $15 This class is for students who are a bit older and would like more time to explore the art making process on a deeper level. Everyone works at their own pace. A variety of art-making materials and concepts will be offered. Each day a theme will be introduced along with work of art which will be the starting point for the project. Students will be encouraged to take the projects in their own personal directions.
