This scholarship will be: $1,000 to be applied toward tuition to an accredited 4-year college/university. Awarded to a student who is a well-rounded individual with community service and school involvement. Qualified applicants should meet the following criteria: Be a graduating senior with a minimum 2.8 overall GPA from either Forest Park High School or Potomac High School. Must include an official high school transcript. Plan to attend an accredited 4-year college or university in the fall following graduation. Demonstrate voluntary service to the local community (Prince William County or the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area) Submit three letters of recommendation from adults (excluding immediate family members or other relatives) who can validate the applicant’s commitment to the community, interest in further education, and/or good character. One letter must be from a school staff member. This scholarship is designed to attract students of diversity who will add to the diversity of the University community. The award will be covering full tuition for four years. All in-state applicants will automatically be considered for this award. The most competitive applicants will demonstrate through the UVA supplement of the common application that they have special talents, unique personal characteristics, and/or pressing needs which will assist UVA with the objective of recruit and retain a diverse student body.
