Michigan Oncology Pathways Meeting
How has Pathways adherence changed over the past 12 months with electronic
submission of your patients’ regimens? What progress has been made on issues
identified during the January Consortium? Review aggregate data of the Pathways
program and see how your practice aligns within the Consortium. Identify
strengths of the Pathways treatment and supportive care pathways. Share ideas for
improvement with colleagues from across Michigan. In this session we will gather
ideas for how to use reports to enhance patient care within your own practice.

The Rising Use of Orals in Cancer Care
- Panel Discussion -
Whether it is adherence and persistence of treatment, or the challenges of
in-house dispensing, the use of oral oncoloytics is changing cancer care. The use
of orals demands greater care coordination between the provider and the patient,
but also between the patient and the specialty pharmacy, the Patient Assistance
Programs and payers. Care coordinators and patient navigators are not financially
viable for every practice. What tools are available to manage this process? This
panel will cover the legal, clinical and payer perspectives.

Evolving Models of Oncology Care
Management - Panel Discussion -
Oncology Care Models (OCM) are rapidly evolving. CMS’s intention to launch the
OCM plan in 2016 will be but one of the aspects of OCM that will be discussed during
this robust discussion. Speakers from government, payers and major employers will
be represented on this panel. Attendees will gain greater understanding of the goals
of this program, the differing perspectives and the alternatives that are
being recommended.

Luncheon: Integrating Genomics Into
Your Practice - Panel Discussion -
Genomic markers are not only driving drug development, patient demand to
understand the impact of genomics on their individual treatment is growing rapidly.
Payers, while mandating evidence-based treatment, are increasingly wary of new
diagnostics. How does a clinician manage the delicate process of integrating
genomic testing into their practice while meeting the needs of the patient, payer
and provider? Leading genomics Key Opinion Leaders will provide insight into how
the implementation of genomic testing into practice improves cancer care while
adhering to evidence-based practice.

Michigan Cancer Consortium Update
Quality clinical research is responsible for major advancements in cancer prevention
and treatment. Nearly 15 years ago many stakeholders in the care of Michigan’s
cancer patients created and committed to a consensus agreement to increase
participation in select cancer-related clinical trials by making payment predictable
for services provided within the context of clinical trials. The Michigan Cancer
Consortium is reevaluating this agreement to be in line with the cutting edge of
cancer research. This session will introduce the current issues and invite
participation in the process.
Integrating New Treatments into
Your Practice: Immunotherapy

The use of immunotherapy in cancer treatment will fundamentally change how
patients receive and respond to care. PD1 compounds are but one example of
these new treatments. How will you, as a physician, recognize when the patient is
responding to treatment? How will you, as an administrator, integrate these new
treatments into your workflow: How are payers preparing for these new
treatment paradigms?
