Programme Philosophy
The Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Studies is designed with industry participation and advice. It seeks to cater to the
needs of industry by providing students with an opportunity to develop knowledge, competencies and skills in the following areas
of specialization: Marketing, Finance and Management, Accounting and Human Resource Management.
The objectives of this programme are to:
 Develop students’ analytical and problem-solving skills in the business environment;
 Give students the understanding of concepts and theories learned as they are applied to management, marketing,
accounting and finance, so that they provide a fundamental basis for effective decision-making and good business
behaviour;
 Help students develop and apply the theories and concepts delivered across the programme as a whole and within the pathways.
Duration
Four -year undergraduate programme, providing two exit points (one at the end of two years and the other at the end of four years).
A student may exit the programme after two years, in which an Associate Degree in Business Studies will be awarded.
Entry Requirements
An applicant MUST have a minimum of five (5) passes in subjects at CSEC or GCE O’Level: English A, Mathematics and three
(3) other subjects OR an Associate Degree in Business Studies.
Mode of Study
The B.Sc. in Business Studies is currently offered on a part-time basis (evenings). Full-time offering is dependent on the level of
subscription each year.

 Work experience – 240 hours
 Community service – 30 hours
