Kids and women are either round robin or double elimination matches. Adult males are single

event registration. You just need to click on the ‘Register’ and then fill out the form where, at the end,
you’ll be taken to Paypal to pay by credit card. Please note we pre-register so that you know days in

We look forwarding seeing you on the mats!
CBJJF
If you are new to our events, or have no familiarity with IBJJF style events, here is what you should
do when you arrive in the venue:
1. At the entrance to the facility, there will be a table for athletes with several lines. As an athlete
you should go to this table where your name will be checked against our athlete list for entry.
2. If you are a coach or spectator you should go to the Coach’s or General Admission table. Here
you will either pick up your coach’s pass (with identification) or pay your spectator fee and
receive access to the venue.
3. As an athlete, you should immediately go weigh in at the weight in table if you are within three
hours of your division start time (you MUST) know your division! If you make weight you will
receive a stamp and then you are free to roam about and watch matches until your division starts.
If you do not make weight…start running!
4. Athletes are welcome to use the warm up area at any time but MUST be in this area 30 minutes
prior to their scheduled start time. You should listen for your division to be called and report to
the appropriate ring coordinator when your division is called.
5. Once your division has been called, you may be instructed to remain in the warm up area (do
NOT leave this area) or your ring coordinator will bring you into the bull pen to have your Gi
checked and then onto the processed area to await the start of your match. You can NOT leave
the bull pen or processed area or you will be disqualified. One parent or a coach is allowed into
the bull pen with small or nervous kids but not allowed mat side.
6.
When it is time for your match, your ring coordinator will return to the bull pen and bring you to
the mat where you will wait for the referee’s instruction to enter the mats. You can NOT step
onto the mats without direction from the referee.
7. After you match, you cannot leave the mat to celebrate until after the referee has raised your hand
and dismissed you from the mats.
8. Once your mat is finished you should either wait mat side for instructions from your ring
coordinator or the scorekeeper or return to the bull pen to wait your next match if your ring
coordinator requested you to do so before your match started. If you are an adult male and you
lost you should return to the bull pen to exit the competition area.
9. If you are a medal winner in your division you MUST wait mat side until your division is
finished. At the conclusion of your division, the ring coordinator will hand the gold medal
winner the bracket sheet for your division and instruct the medal winners to take it to the medal
podium to receive their medal.
10. If you are an adult medal winner and you wish to go into the open division you will need to sign
up for it at the podium. Tell the podium staff you wish to do so. Generally, you must medal to
go into the open divisions but this may differ for small, new events particularly outside BC and
Alberta.
11. Once you have finished your completion come and find us and tell us how we did! We want to
hear how we can run better tournaments or what we are doing well!
