The Poverty Simulation, created by the Missouri Community Action Coalition, is an experiential opportunity that allows participants to
confront the day to day realities of life with a shortage of money. The simulation is intended to bring about a greater understanding of
poverty and the stress and challenges families face when trying to survive their circumstances.

Follow the story of a former unaccompanied homeless youth, Michael, who has turned his hardships into a successful non-profit to help
other homeless youth. Learn how the importance of building trusting relationships, being flexible, and “thinking outside of the box”
allowed Michael, his homeless liaison, former high school principal, and other community mentors to help him find his path to success.
