CENTRAL INDIANA ASSE CHAPTER NEWSLETTER May 2015 Greetings Chapter Members! On April 30, 2015 the Chapter was a sponsor of the 22nd Annual MICCS Awards Banquet. The board members were honored to represent our Chapter at this prestigious event recognizing world-class construction companies, contractors and craft persons. Congratulations to all the winners of the 2015 awards! The ASSE year is winding to an end (officially ends June 30); however there are still several opportunities for learning and networking. At the release of this newsletter, there are 8 tickets remaining for the ASSE Day at the Track on Thursday May 7. If interested, register at http://centralindiana.asse.org/events/?ee=72. Chapter Elections will be held electronically. An email will be distributed this month with instructions; the elections will close on May 31. NEWS: 3rd Annual CI ASSE Scholarship Golf Outing Mark your calendars for August 28, 2015 for the 3rd Annual CI ASSE Scholarship Golf Outing. The event will be held at the West Chase Golf Club in Brownsburg, IN. All money raised is to support a $1,000 scholarship to assist an individual with his or her college tuition/bills. There will also be also be a lunch only networking event for those who don’t want to golf but still want to enjoy the activities. More information to come in the June newsletter. Foooooooooore!!! Certification Preparation Exam Workshops: CHST and STS in Indianapolis, IN The Chapter has partnered with SPAN International to host exam preparation workshops for the CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) and STS (Safety Trained Supervisor). The CHST workshop is scheduled July 28-30, 2015 at the Hilton Garden Inn at the Indianapolis International Airport. The STS workshop is scheduled July 31, 2015 at the same location. Central Indiana ASSE Chapter members are eligible for a $50 discount for registration. Companies sending 4 or more employees to the STS workshop may be eligible for a larger discount. CI ASSE Chapter to Receive Gold Level Status Honor The Central Indiana ASSE Chapter will be rewarded with the highest level of recognition by achieving goldlevel status at the ASSE Conference in Dallas, TX on June 8, 2015. Every ASSE chapter completes an annual report of chapter performance that indicates how well the chapter meets basic standards of excellence. Gold-Level Chapters generally exceed the basic standards of excellence. Thanks to all chapter members for your continuing involvement in the chapter and the safety profession as a whole.
