FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MAY 5, 2015 MFM HOSTS CANADIAN SONGWRITER CHALLENGE IN SUDBURY MAY 5, 2015 SUDBURY- From May 27 to 29, 2015, Music and Film in Motion (MFM) will host the Canadian Songwriter Challenge presented by Bell Media and the Canadian Council of Music Industry Associations (CCMIA). The workshop will take place at Collège Boréal in Sudbury which houses a new state-of-the-art recording studio. Ten songwriters will convene for an intensive three-day program wherein they will co-write and record songs with the help of established industry mentors Kat Burns (KASHKA, Forest City Lovers) and Spencer Burton (Grey Kingdom, Attack in Black). Attendees will also get the chance to participate in an educational “Business of Songwriting” seminar and a demo critique which will allow the artists to gain valuable feedback from the mentors on their existing recorded material. Public audiences and industry guests attending NOMFA are invited to attend the Canadian Songwriter Challenge showcase on May 27, 2015, beginning at 8:00pm at Speakeasy, 113 Durham St. This showcase will be the first of five during NOMFA.
