FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MAY 5, 2015 MFM ANNOUNCES ADDITION OF MUSIC VIDEO CHALLENGE TO 2015 MAY 5, 2015 NOMFA PROGRAM Sudbury– Music and Film in Motion is thrilled to announce The Motion in the Music workshop as part of this year’s conference and award show. In partnership with the Anywhere Creator Space and NOMFA award nominee for Best Album by a Solo Artist, Rose-Erin Stokes, this event will give up-and-coming musicians and filmmakers the opportunity to produce a music video from start to finish in one day. Music and Film Professionals are invited to take part in the exciting workshop. From May 6th to May 22nd, NOMFA will be taking video pitches based on RoseErin Stokes single, “Not Alone”. Guidelines for submitting pitches can be found on our website at cionorth.ca/nomfa. Pitches will be reviewed by Rose-Erin Stokes and MFM staff to determine the winning concept. The winning pitch will be notified on May 25 th. The person who submits the selected pitch will act as the director for the day under the mentorship of filmmakers Jason and Brett Butler of Substance Productions in Toronto. The rest of the participants will be divided into teams and become crew members as they are guided through the process of shooting an independent music video by our cinematography mentors. This is a wonderful chance for both musicians and filmmakers to work together in a unique way. We are excited to invite Northern Ontario cinematographers Mathieu Seguin from Motion Arc Studios in Sudbury, Dave Clement from the Digital Production Program at Canadore College, and Piotr Skowronski from Imaginarium Studio to show our participants how to properly shoot and light their own music video projects.
