welcome
our mission is to be a significant Pentecostal church
committed to reach the people of this region for Christ
and to build and release them to multiply this process
What about all this prosperity teaching?
Have you ever noticed that our world works really hard to get more, to keep more and to hold on to
more? That's just the way society naturally, without Christ is! Yet the moment prosperity is mentioned in
the church it creates concern that we are venturing into dangerous territory.
Firstly I believe in prosperity because God believes in it. Scripture reinforces it over and over again!
However, to compare His prosperity beside a societal ideal and response is totally wrong. They are
founded on completely opposing principles and one is a poor counterfeit of the other.
Secondly, God's blessing of you has never been restricted to just the material. Galatians Chapter 3 is
huge for us Gentiles! Paul reminds us all that the curse of the law paid for by the sacrifice of Christ,
released the blessing of Abraham. (Verse 14) God had declared Himself to Abraham, I am your shield
and your very great reward. (Genesis 15:1) Abraham prospered! Paul reminds us that Christ had need of
nothing, but made himself poor for our sakes (by becoming fully human) taking from us the curse of the
law by on the cross being the poorest of all; even more so as the Father walked away; that we could be
blessed in everything. Thirdly, it's important to recognise that blessing and prosperity are not something
but someone, Jesus Christ. Scripture does not say that because Christ was poor, at the cross, we must
renounce all we have to be spiritually acceptable to God and an unsaved world. Some have created
whole doctrines and philosophies of ministry around this, I believe, in error!
Finally, this is why one of the names of God is fully available to us: Jehovah Jirah; the one who sees and in
seeing our need, meets our need! Can you picture that? God's blessing overtaking us and literally
running us over! Why then does God bless us? John wrote (as a prayer) in 3 John 1:2 “I pray for good
fortune in everything you do, and for your good health that your everyday affairs prosper, as well as your
soul!” John captures for every believer a desire that they prosper so as to be strengthened in every way
to fulfil the call and purposes of God over their lives.
God wishes to bless you to resource you to do His work and fulfil his calling. That's prosperity and blessing
from an entirely different motive and purpose, yet it remains a biblical principle. Reflect on the Children
of Israel and how God caused them to be blessed as they departed Egypt. It seems unusual that God
caused the Egyptians to shower them with riches; they then had to carry into the desert. Yet God's
purpose for their prosperity only became evident when they were asked to give for the construction of
the tabernacle in the wilderness and they gave so much they had to cease the appeal! How good is
that? Believe for it, sow to it and apply faith as you walk forward in ministry. God will prosper you!

DAVID & STEPH AYLING
MOZAMBIQUE, AFRICA
MAZIOTELA MINISTRIES
David & Steph are currently in Portugal learning the Portuguese language which is the most common
language spoken in Mozambique. They are spending seven days a week focusing on learning, studying and
practicing the language. After learning how to speak Portuguese they plan to team up with David’s parents in
Mozambique, who have been serving there for over 15 years. Steph is a Taranaki girl, but both have been
living in Wellington for some time before embarking on this journey. They have one son, Seth.
"The first month of our time of language learning here in Portugal has already come and gone, but we have
learnt so much already! Monday through Friday we have 'Escola de lingua Portugues', aka Language School
where we have individual language lessons with our fantastic Portuguese teacher, Eunice.
God is so faithful, we have found a great church. Just one quick bus ride away, in Loures, is an awesome
church that we can call 'home' for the next two months. We are enjoying having the opportunity to worship
God with others, and hear teaching in Portuguese." - David Ayling February 2015.
Please pray for...
1. Continued provision and faith as they come up against unexpected challenges
2. For excellence in their language learning
