A broad spectrum of disorders including fibromyalgia, diabetic neuropathy, migraine, and spinal pain will be addressed. Also included for the first time this year will be the role of the placebo in pain, and a testimonial from a patient living with neuropathy. Through didactic lecture and interactive discussions with expert clinicians, attendees will learn current medical and cutting-edge diagnostic and interventional practices that will prepare them to diagnose and manage patients living with pain in 2015 and beyond. Educational Objectives At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to: • D evelop a comprehensive management strategy for patients with neuropathic pain of various etiologies. • D efine menstrual migraine and discuss an appropriate management plan. • D escribe the role of the placebo effect in the management of pain. • F ormulate a diagnostic workup and treatment plan for the patient with fibromyalgia. • D iscuss the role of balloon augmentation for patients with osteoporosisrelated vertebral compression fracture.
