Can you believe it? It’s
April already! Before you
know it, the 2015 Academy
will be here. This year,
you can expect some exciting updates to the training
offered. Our Aerial and
Engine Maintenance
classes have been updated.
Please check our website
as information is being updated all the time.
As we are moving forward
towards the Academy, your
Board is hard at work tying
up loose ends, making
every effort to continue to
improve the valuable training each of us should ex-
pect. This is where you,
the membership continue
to help us get the Academy
off the ground; your continued support through
your annual membership
dues allow your Association to continue to improve
upon the training we offer.
Please, if you’ve not done
so already, visit our website and pay your 2015 Annual Dues. Additional support comes from the voice
of our membership. Please
speak up, we want to hear
any ideas or suggestions
you may have. Every direction the Association
takes is based on the feedback we receive from you.
I hope to see everyone at
our next meeting. Adams
County Fire and Garry
Aranda have offered to
host the meeting on the 29th
of this month. Vice Chairman Ken Roland is going
to provide us with some
updated Detroit Diesel
training.
As always, please do not
hesitate to contact me with
any questions you may
have or if there is anything
I can do to help you.

Scholarships
The Barrie Niebergall Memorial Scholarship Fund has money available for scholarships that
will help better fire mechanic's and fire engineers in the State of Colorado. The process for application is very simple. If there is a department out there that doesn't have money budget to send students to the Mechanics' Academy or other like trainings that are available to them, this is a good
source of those needed funds. The money is basically there for the asking if some minor criteria are
met. For more information contact:

Membership Has Its Privileges
We as people who are responsible for the providing first responders with their primary link between those who need help and those who have the training to provide help; function in a world where
our crucial roles can be easily overshadowed. This means that we have to learn how to be highly effective with limited resources and even less support. The Colorado Emergency Vehicle Technicians Association is here to provide the support and collaborate on how to best manage limited resources. Perhaps
another suitable name would be the “Getting Water From a Turnip Association”.
We are a solutions oriented group of people who believe in what we are doing. Therefore, we embrace these challenges and are proud to be the unsung, behind the scenes support. But we ourselves need
support, and get that by supporting one-another. Meeting on a regular basis gives us the opportunity to
voice our frustrations and share in our wins. We are a group whose sum is greater the totality of its parts.
Our strength is gleaned from your attendance. While dues are helpful, they are very nominal.
Your participation, working together with your fellow behind the scenes heroes across Colorado will
help all of us maintain a cycle of continual excellence.
Please, log on now to coevta.org click on “Membership”, follow the simple prompts to pay your dues with
credit card or Paypal and plan on attending the next meeting, April 29, 2015, 9AM, Adams County Station 11.
