We’ve enjoyed knitting our way through several of Sarah’s designs as a featured Rowan designer. And we’re thrilled to be hosting Sarah for three days on her North American tour. Sarah will be at River City Yarns West signing books and teaching workshops. Sarah’s workshops are sold out but you can still come out and meet her on Monday, March 4 from 6:00-8:00pm. Rowan Wool Cotton is a beautiful blend of 50% Merino Wool and 50% Cotton. This all natural yarn is soft, soft, soft and has a high twist which helps to prevent pilling. Did I mention that it’s soft? Rowan Wool Cotton is available in a DK weight (each 50g/113m ball knits up at a gauge of 22—24 sts over 10cm on a 3.75—4.0mm needle). New this spring, Rowan has come out with a 4 ply or fingering weight version. This finer gauge yarn comes in 50g/180m balls and has a knitting gauge of 28sts over 10cm on 3.25mm needles. We’ve made sure to restock our Rowan line in preparation for Sarah’s visit. These yarns, in particular, are featured in Sarah’s latest book, Scarves, Shrugs & Shawls: Rowan Felted Tweed DK: is a wonderful, tweedy yarn with a felted look; a beautiful blend of 50% merino wool, 25% alpaca and 25% viscose. The rustic colour palette makes this yarn perfect for fairisles, striping and other colour work. Each 50g ball has 175m and is gauged at 22sts/10cm on 4.0mm needles. Rowan Fine Lace: This beautiful fine lace weight yarn is made in a blend of the softest baby suri alpaca (80%) and the finest merino wool (20%).
