Retail Tour: Wednesday, April 15 • 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The retail tour is an annual program, offering the opportunity for registrants to visit some of the host city’s most interesting and unique produce retail outlets. Join us for a retail tour of three unique Montréal stores! This year we’ll be visiting Le Marché Jean Talon, Marché Adonis and Provigo Le Marché. Marché Jean Talon has long been a staple for Montrealers, and is the ideal market to spot the freshest and most unique produce. Marché Adonis has seen tremendous success in catering to Montréal’s vibrant Middle Eastern community by providing unique grocery items. Last but not least, the vibrant Provigo le Marché gives customers a unique and refreshing shopping experience. Mary Fitzgerald Award The Mary FitzGerald Award is given to someone who has the same passion and dedication for the produce industry as Mary demonstrated throughout her career. The 2014 award was presented to Steve Young of the Oppenheimer Group. CPMA Lifetime Achievement Award The CPMA Lifetime Achievement Award is given to an individual who has been recognized by their peers, and who through their dedication, has contributed a lifetime of selfless service to the produce industry at the regional, national and/or international level and continuously supported the CPMA’s activities and industry initiatives. Over 36 outstanding men and women have been recognized since the introduction of the CPMA Lifetime Achievement Award in 1994. Freggie Children’s Program: Friday, April 4 • 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) offers free resources for teachers, parents and caregivers to support healthy eating programs and education for children. CPMA realizes that one way to encourage healthy eating habits is to introduce children to a variety of of fresh produce. While visiting the CPMA trade show, students are immersed in a world of colours, smells and tastes that challenge their imagination, and increase their understanding of where their food comes from. Guided through the show by the CPMA Children’s Program mascot, FreggieTM, children are given the opportunity to meet produce growers, taste new fruits and veggies and ask questions about produce. CPMA Annual Banquet • 7:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Join us as we close off the 90th Annual Convention & Trade Show with an Evening in Paris! The décor, entertainment, menu and wine will transport you to Paris for an enchanting evening. The Packer Produce Person of the Year Award The Produce Person of the Year Award recognizes achievements in the produce industry. They can be connected to building produce consumption at the consumer level, to building demand or to being an advocate for the industry in the area of government relations, technology or trading. Nominees may be affiliated with organizations that are grower/shippers, packers, retailers, brokers, foodservice distributors, broadline distributors, produce wholesalers, produce processors, chain restaurant operators, or independent restaurant operators.
