Opening June 5 – September 13, 2015 - in the Robert and Marian Fewell Gallery
OVERVIEW
Mini-Golf 2015: International Edition at the Coral Gables Museum represents the Museum’s second
round of mini-golf presented as a “playable” interactive exhibit. The 2013 edition was themed on
Coral Gables Landmarks. The nine-hole course exhibited in the Museum in 2013 featured mini-golf
holes designed by local architectural and design firms, engineers, contractors and students in those
disciplines. Imagine… mini-golf in air conditioned comfort in a museum! The 2013 edition was so
successful–we still have visitors asking to play–that we are presenting a second round during the
summer of 2015. Mini-Golf 2015 will be comprised of a minimum 9-hole course. The mini-golf
holes will be selected from submitted design entries. Mini-Golf 2015: International Edition will open
on Friday, June 5 which is a First Friday Gallery Night Live! at the Museum. The Museum will provide
advertising and marketing of Mini-Golf 2015 through social and traditional media, press release
distribution, calendar listings and more. In 2013 Mini-Golf at the Museum garnered both local and
national media attention.
Mini-Golf 2015: International Edition will be managed by Ellen Dyer, Special Project Coordinator at
the Coral Gables Museum. The exhibit will be designed by Little Gables Group.
THE MUSEUM’S MISSION
The Coral Gables Museum celebrates the civic arts of architecture, urban design and planning,
sustainable development and preservation – architectural, cultural and environmental. The Museum
is a 501c3non-profit operating in an historic LEED certified building owned by the City of Coral
Gables.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR Mini-golf HOLES
The theme of your mini-golf hole should relate to the Coral Gables Museum’s mission and take
inspiration from both built and natural environments: iconic structures, monuments, landscapes,
modes of transportation. With our international theme this year, you should definitely think global!
Your mini-golf hole can be miniature or giant scale. Make a statement. Take a flight of fancy.
The mini-golf holes selected will be featured in a playable mini-golf course to be installed in the
Museum’s Robert and Marian Fewell Gallery, June 5 – September 13, 2015.
