Deaf Education Network is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and we provide a range of courses for deaf, deafblind, hard of hearing and hearing people. We are seeking a qualified full time Teacher to join our Education Department. Flexible work hours is a must, with weekend and evening classes integral to the position. This position will focus on the efficient delivery of teaching in a range of disciplines and to assist and support Deaf, Deafblind, Hard of Hearing and Hearing students achieve outcomes in our five main focus areas: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Teach qualifications within the Auslan Curriculum and the Diploma of Interpreting, locally and regionally. Teach courses in line with the Foundation Skills and the CGEA (Curriculum General Education for Adults). Facilitate and engage with students in Moodle, our online blended learning platform. Teach Auslan community courses. Relief teaching and Deaf Awareness Training presenting. Essential Criteria: Experience working with Training Packages and Curriculums. Fluent in Auslan Demonstrated experience in the design, delivery, evaluation and management of education activities for adults. Approachable, empathetic, patient and able to make decisions in dealing with challenging and difficult enquiries. Excellent communication skills in Auslan, written English, verbal and/or ability to use an interpreter. Experience in managing competing priorities and demonstrated flexibility. Self motivation, time management and initiative. Qualifications: Bachelor of Adult Education or similar discipline TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (incl LLN unit). Desirable Criteria: Detailed knowledge of the (ASQA) Australian Skills Quality Authority, (AQF) Australian Quality Framework, NSW Disability Services Act and other relevant legislation which affects marginalised people. Detailed knowledge of AVETMISS (Australian Vocational Education and Training Management Information Statistical Standard). Knowledge in the delivery of the full suite of Auslan courses.
