Introduce your children to the magic of Auslan
interpreted theatre through this exciting
performance of Cinderella from Opera Australia.
Based on the opera La Cenerentola by Rossini, Opera
Australia has specially adapted one of opera’s most captivating
tales in a production tailored for primary school children.
Will poor Cindy learn to stand up to mean stepbrother and
sister to meet her own destiny (and her Prince Charming too?)
Rossini’s sparkling music will light the way through a wonderful
mix of magic, drama and hijinks in a fully staged, brand
new, 50 minute version of Cinderella. This will be a shadowinterpreted performance with the Auslan interpreters joining the
singers onstage in full costume, as part of the action rather than
standing side of stage. This innovative style of performance
offers all audience members – hearing, deaf and hard of
hearing – a memorable and full performing arts experience.
This production features talented New South Wales Opera
Australia singers along with Auslan interpreters Amanda Galea
and Paula Bun.
