FAQ
Western Health Transition
If you’re currently salary packaging
When will my current salary packaging
arrangements be transferred to Maxxia?
Your Maxxia salary packaging account will commence on
1 April 2015.
Can I transition to Maxxia sooner?
No. Your salary packaging arrangements will still be
administered by SmartSalary until 31 March 2015.
How will my salary packaging arrangements be
transferred to Maxxia? What do I need to do?
If you have a SmartSalary Packaging Payment Card for
living expenses:
Maxxia will obtain your salary packaging information from
SmartSalary. We’ll then set up your new account based
upon your current salary packaging deduction amount
to commence on your first pay date from 2 April. You
will need to order a new Salary Packaging Payment Card
with Maxxia through ANZ. To do this, you will need to:
1.complete a simple security check at any
ANZ branch
2.complete an ANZ Application Form and return
it to Maxxia.
An ANZ Application Form and details on how to
complete the simple security check with ANZ will be
sent to you.
If you have a Meal Entertainment Card:
The same application process described above is
required for the Maxxia Meal Entertainment Payment
Card. You only need to complete one form to order both
the Maxxia Meal Entertainment and Salary Packaging
Payment Cards.
If you have recurring, regular payments (e.g. for loans,
mortgage and rent):
You do not need to do anything. Maxxia will obtain your
salary packaging payment amounts and bank details
for each recurring benefit from SmartSalary prior to
the transition on 1 April. We’ll then set these regular
payments up for you.
What happens to excess funds on my
SmartSalary Packaging Payment Card?
Funds on your SmartSalary Packaging Payment Card
need to be spent by 31 March to make the most of the
2014 – 2015 Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) year cap limit.
Any funds that are not spent before 31 March will be
returned to your payroll department, and then returned
to you after tax has been applied.
What happens to excess funds on my
SmartSalary Meal Entertainment Card?
Meal Entertainment balances will be transferred across
to Maxxia and transferred to your new Maxxia Meal
Entertainment Payment Card on 2 April. Once your card
application process has been completed and you have
been issued your new card, you will be able to spend
the transferred funds.
Can Maxxia reimburse any expenses (e.g. venue
hire and accommodation) incurred before 1
April?
Yes. You can back date all claims for up to a maximum
of 12 months or from the start of your employment (if
you have been employed for less than 12 months).
Will my administration fees/schedule change?
No, there will be no change to your annual salary
packaging fee. It will also continue to be charged in
fortnightly installments and deducted from your pre-tax
pay with your salary packaging dedications as per your
previous arrangements.
How will my novated lease be transferred
to Maxxia?
Maxxia will receive data on your current novated lease
from SmartSalary, and a Maxxia novated lease account
will then be created for you, commencing on the first
pay cycle in the new FBT year.
Will Maxxia contact me to organise the transfer
of my novated lease?
Yes. Maxxia will be making a ‘Welcome’ call to you in
March using contact details provided by SmartSalary.
This will also provide you with greater detail around
Maxxia’s novated lease process.
What happens if I am mid way through
organising my lease with SmartSalary?
You can continue your lease discussions with
SmartSalary until the transition to Maxxia is finalised
on 1 April. Any new lease enquiries can be directed to
Maxxia from 2 March.
