The Occ Med/EHS has moved to its new location. We are now located in the new Outpatient Pavilion, on
the UCONN Health Campus.
OccMed/EHS clinic is located on the 2nd floor and the Academic Offices are located on the 7th floor.

The next CICATS OSH CIG Trends in Occupational Health meeting will be held on Wednesday,
March 25th from 12:00pm-1:30pm. Location: Outpatient Pavilion, 2nd floor, Large Conference
Room.

UPCOMING TALKS
Our next invited guest speaker for our Colloquium series is: Robert Swotinsky, M.D., MPH
Robert Swotinsky, MD, MPH, is a Board Certified occupational medicine physician, certified MRO
and Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), and a workplace drug testing expert from Sudbury MA.
Dr. Swotinsky is affiliated with the University of Massachusetts after practicing clinical medicine at
Reliant Medical Group in Worcester, Mass., where he chaired their occupational health department
for 11 years. He is currently in consulting practice with a mix of clinical and administrative roles.
Dr. Swotinsky was appointed by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration (SAMHSA) and Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA) to committees
to refine and develop workplace drug testing procedures and the commercial motor vehicle (CMV)
examination process. He served on FMCSA's Schedule II Medications Panel (2006), and FMCSA's
Office of Medical Programs Work Group (2009 - 2010). Dr. Swotinsky is on the Medical Review
Officer Certification Council's Examination Development Committee and also serves on the faculty
for ACOEM's MRO training courses. Dr. Swotinsky has lectured and written widely about workplace
drug testing, is the author of The Medical Review Officer's Manual and co-editor of the ACOEM MRO
Update.
He will be presenting a seminar on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, 12:00pm-1:00pm;
Title of Talk: MRO (Medical Review Officer) without a net. Uncertainties in MRO practices
regarding prescription medications.
