SELF-SUPPLY DEVELOPMENT, PERMITTING, OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE
Secure Control Over Your Water Quality & Reliability
NextWater and DSV have teamed up to offer an innovative solution to address the
unique water supply redundancy and quality needs of the health care industry.
Under a performance-based turnkey arrangement, the installation of new on-site
groundwater delivery systems — providing continuous potable water treated to the
highest U.S. EPA and State quality standards with advanced real-time monitoring —
is now available.
Protect Against Legionella Risks with Point-of-Entry Disinfection
Regrowth of harmful microorganisms is a common
occurrence within water utility distribution lines
and the plumbing systems of large facilities, and the
risk of acquiring Legionella is now the most
significant waterborne-disease risk associated with
distributed drinking water in the United States.
Existing rules under the Safe Drinking Water Act
address the control of Legionella at centralized
treatment plants, but do not address the subsequent regrowth of these pathogens downstream
within utility distribution and customer lines.
Water treatment systems installed at the point-of-entry to hospitals and health care
facilities offer the greatest protection against these risks for the most vulnerable of
elderly and immune-suppressed patients, but also require on-going operations
monitoring and compliance expertise.
“The risk of acquiring legionellosis from waterborne inhalation exposures is now the
most significant waterborne disease risk associated with distributed drinking water in
the United States.”

Prepare for Emergency Disruption with On-Site Supply
Water supply interruption can be caused by several types of events such as natural
disaster, failure of the community water system, construction damage, or even an
act of terrorism. In order to maintain daily operations and patient care services,
health care facilities must develop an Emergency Water Supply Plan to prepare for,
respond to, and recover from a total or partial interruption of their facilities’
normal water supply.
On-site groundwater supply systems which can be powered by backup generators
and continue operating through periods of local disruption are recognized by the
water and healthcare industries as the best line of defense. However, the
implementation of these systems has been limited to date by hospitals due to
constraints on capital allocation and regulatory expertise.
“With cost estimates for required system investment ranging from the hundreds of
billions of dollars to a trillion dollars by 2035, industry respondents ranked aging
infrastructure as the single most important water industry issue today. Regardless of
an exact dollar value, the bottom line is the potential for catastrophic failures in our
water and wastewater infrastructure is a ticking time bomb waiting for a place to
happen.”

Improve Water Quality Control & Real-Time Monitoring
Utilizing on-site treatment, and incorporating advanced real-time monitoring, our
systems deliver you continuous water supply treated to the highest quality
standards. We’ll provide enhanced analytics, process control and real-time
measurement reliability to improve your quality control and efficiencies in all
phases of water and energy use.
Lower Water Rates Guaranteed
Nationally, water rates have risen an average of 9% per year since 2008 and are
projected to continue growing at a similar pace over the coming decades. We let
you lock in lower, predictable water rates that are guaranteed for years to come.
Enjoy price certainty and secure immediate cost savings, regardless of how much
utility rates go up. Upon completion of the contract term full ownership of our
system resides with you, securing millions of dollars more in future savings.
“The issue of aging water infrastructure, which was buried for years, can be buried no
longer. Ultimately, the cost of the renewal we face must come from local utility customers, through higher water rates.”

Self-Sustaining Solution
We make it possible to source water locally at the point-of-use, while utilizing the
‘right water’ for the ‘right need’, helping to lower your carbon footprint. Avoid the
energy requirements necessary to pump supplies over long distances and treat to
unnecessary standards for non-potable uses.
We Make it Easy
We make it easy for you to self-supply
with more affordable and sophisticated
water systems. Our fully-integrated team
will take care of every aspect of your
project including design, development,
financing, permitting, and installation as
well as on-going system operations,
maintenance, monitoring and compliance.
That means you'll only have one point of
contact if you have any questions before,
during or after your groundwater system
installation.
$0 Down Financing
Our performance-based turnkey
projects are delivered under flexible
terms and conditions. NextWater
fully-funds all groundwater exploration,
development,
permitting,
design, and installation services to
deliver new water supplies at the
lowest cost. If we don’t perform,
you’ll have no financial obligation.

Here’s How it Works
To ensure your project runs smoothly, we’ve assembled the most qualified team
with decades of experience dealing with every aspect of your project. Here’s an
overview of the process we’ll complete to deliver you new, sustainable water supplies...risk-free.
Step 1: Site Assessment
We’ll discuss your water usage and review your property using our GIS
platform to confirm that the project is right for you. We’ll then work together to outline which areas of your property are acceptable for exploration
and development activities.

Step 2: Groundwater Exploration
Utilizing our technology platform and data gathered from our exploration
program, our scientists will identify optimal locations for the siting of new,
sustainable groundwater wells.
Step 3: Resource Development
Once the target locations have been identified, we’ll drill, test and permit the
wells in accordance with all local, State and Federal regulation. As part of
this process, we’ll perform rigorous, long-term pump tests to determine the
sustainable yield of each well, ensuring that withdrawals won’t adversely
impact the local environment or existing groundwater users.
Step 4: System Design
Our team of certified engineers and water treatment specialists will work
with you to design a groundwater production system capable of delivering
new water supplies which meet all of your required specifications.
Step 5: Installation
Following design completion, our engineers will install and connect your
new groundwater supply system. Through a series of tests, we’ll confirm the
system operates according to your design parameters.
Step 6: Operations & Monitoring
Once the new system is up and running, we’ll cover all incremental costs
associated with system operations, maintenance, monitoring and compliance for the life of the contract term. You’ll also have real-time monitoring
capabilities so you can check on the performance of the system at any time.
