Join this session to learn how others around the world use metrics to track the journey of policies into practice and to contribute your ideas about the metrics and sources of evidence that should inform the scorecard. Find out how one school authority used the Learning and Technology Policy Framework to communicate what IT does and what it costs to increase engagement of educational leaders in IT financial decisions. In particular, it was interested in supporting learner differences with regards to cognitive ability (i.e., from cognitive disability to gifted). Join participants from Rocky View Schools to hear their flexible pathways to success story, as they share what they set out to accomplish, strategies used, obstacles encountered, results and lessons learned. Join this session to discuss various approaches to addressing this critical and complex issue to meet the learning needs of all students. The series is called Building a Shared Understanding for Supporting Every Student. Cloud-based services provide a vast array of opportunities for student learning and efficient administration of education. However, there are privacy risks that need to be addressed. How do you move an entire rural school authority toward a student-centred approach to learning? How do you build buy-in and unleash the power of educators to innovate, while managing risk and balancing workloads? This session will provide an overview of the recent enhancements to the extranet, including Google Apps sign in and enhanced administration capabilities. This session will focus on the two videos out of the nine-video series that relate to technology: Making Sense of Universal Design for Learning and Using Assistive Technology to Support Learning. Presenter: Belina Caissie, Alberta Education School Technology Branch has been working with stakeholders on developing a cloud computing and privacy toolkit. Join us to give your input on the current draft of the toolkit.
