About the Awards
Procurement Excellence Awards 2015 would provide a time and a place for
Procurement & Strategic Sourcing Industry Executives to celebrate outstanding sector
achievements. Designed to identify and reward companies/individuals who have
demonstrated an unparalleled ability to succeed and have continually set standards of
excellence, these awards will recognise leaders of the industry.
These awards are part of 3rd Procurement Strategies Forum which is being held on
same date & in same venue.

Nomination Process & Criteria;
These Awards are the outcome of a combination of research & nominations received
from companies. Every nomination received is researched by our research partner and
each nominee is administered through face to face meeting & over phone. A
questionnaire is prepared in which all relevant aspects of procurement & strategic
sourcing would be covered. For shortlisted companies, nomination write-ups would be
analyzed and also research findings from channels & customer. All winners of the
Procurement Excellence Awards will be announced at the award ceremony so join us as
we celebrate the outstanding achievements of Industry Professionals on evening of 29th
September 2015
Steps for filling your nomination;
Choose the categories you would like to nominate
Register your details with us mentioning the categories in which you would like
to nominate. Based on your selection a detailed nomination process of each
category would be shared
Nomination write – up supporting your each category to be submitted in hard
copy format / soft copy format along with the nomination fees
Deadline for submitting your nomination write up is 30th July 2015
Nomination fee is INR 9,000 + 14% tax per category
Criteria’s for Preparing Nomination Write –up;
To nominate in any category a company needs to send across a write-up not exceeding
3000 words which should focus on the following points;
Procurement Excellence;
 Brief history about the company, management team and services / products /
solutions offered
 Clarity of objectives to be the best and steps taken
 Effective resource allocation towards the same
Write up should incorporate;
 Procurement initiatives to the company's strategy and requirements & clear
guidance on expectations and performance improvement targets
 Tangible results to the bottom and top line of the business; in terms of cost, risk
and value creation including long-term realization of savings, leading service
levels and efficient capital structure
 Measurable and sustained positive impact on the wider business as a result of
procurement excellence i.e. comprehensive cost reduction, low-cost country


Sourcing, systematic commodity management, as well as optimal supplier,
organization and process development.
Continual improvement to the function and innovation from the supply base
Supporting material - Include supporting materials such as graphs, tables,
pictures, screenshots, campaigns etc. that you feel supports your nomination
entry.
Best Use of Technology in Procurement;
 Brief history about the company, management team and services / products /
solutions offered
 Clarity of objectives to be the best and steps taken
 Effective resource allocation towards the same
Write up should incorporate;
 Outline the technology introduced to the procurement process & Objectives
behind the introduction of this new technology
 How the new innovation was rolled out within the organisation including any
challenges faced and how these were overcome
 Outcomes and Results: Outline any practical application to arise from the project
 Any innovation in technology used to improve performance or efficiency
 You can include best example of technology introduced to the procurement
process over the past 12 months
Best Green Procurement Initiative;
 Brief history about the company, management team and services / products /
solutions offered
 Green initiatives undertaken by the company - reduction in the impact on the
environment as result of their procurement efforts.
 Clarity of objectives to be the best and steps taken towards the same
 Effective resource allocation towards the same
 Quality of implementation to achieve desired results
 Minimum 5-8 client testimonials
 Supporting material - Include supporting materials such as graphs, tables,
pictures, screenshots, campaigns etc. that you feel supports your nomination
entry.
Best Procurement Consultancy Project of the Year;
This award is to recognise an organisation that supported a procurement function or
an organisations’ purchasing and supply activity, through the provision of advice,
consultation, training, recruitment or another service on a particular purchasing project.
Write up should incorporate;
 Brief history about the company, management team and services / products /
solutions offered
 How the procurement function was assisted
 Evidence of the benefits, how this support went beyond what was in the contract
 The lasting legacy of the support
 Minimum 5 - 8 client testimonials
 Any other additional information you feel supports your nomination entry
Best use of eProcurement ;
 Brief history about the company, management team and services / products /
solutions offered
 Clarity of objectives to be the best and steps taken
 Effective resource allocation towards the same
 Entries must demonstrate how E-Procurement, including E-Sourcing, and other
tools, have been used effectively and/or innovatively as a positive force for
change, with clear evidence of the benefits that have materialised.
 Any other additional information you feel supports your nomination entry
Best use of Cross-Functional Collaboration;
This category will recognise a procurement project or initiative which has collaboration
with another function, or group of functions within organisation, at its core and that
has delivered tangible commercial benefits.
 Brief history about oraganisation
 Brief about the procurement project or initiative
 Specific evidence of success and the role played by procurement in the
collaboration
 Details about the team which has worked on this project or initiatives ; brief
background in terms of education, experience of all team members, outline their
roles and skills
 How collaboration has successfully influenced the outcome.
Individual Categories;
Best Procurement Leader of the Year;
The significant contribution made by the concerned person, both in terms of thinking &
implementing key strategic initiatives within the organisation, it should
also outline what makes his involvement unique and contribution of this initiative
(qualitative or quantitative)
 Any innovative method / process put into practice by the concerned person
which has made a difference
 The individual should have envisioned the whole betterment of the Procurement
process and driven his team towards it and achieved what he/she had the vision
to do
 The Award celebrates someone who has been assessed as an outstanding leader,
a prominent contributor to their business, leading delivery of high ROI, and
exceeding performance expectations
 The Award is a measure of executive presence, commercial insight, people
leadership abilities, innovation, professional advocacy, technical ability and
integrity.
 This should be accompanied by a brief personal profile as well
We would also need;
 Individual’s educational, family background
 Professional experience and achievements in his corporate journey
 Top 3 achievements (preferably not all 3 should be in the current assignment or
in any single assignment. Spread across previous organisations would help)
 Impact of these Achievements towards company’s growth & service excellence
Best Procurement Team of the Year;
This category recognises the team that has worked to achieve a significant goal or
result.
Write up should incorporate;
 Team achievements - initiative, creativity and leadership to be a positive force
for change and improvement in the procurement function. Last 12 months
initiatives taken which had a impact on the overall department
 Industry recognitions
 Last three year’s growth path as a team
 ROI delivered during this period in team effort
 Any other relevant point which substantiates this nomination
Any other point you wish to add which would add value to your nomination. You
could also attach separate sheets which could be photographs, mailers sent to
customers, direct mailer copies, campaign copies etc.
