We Gather for Fellowship
Coffee/Donut Fellowship
Time: 9:15 - 9:30 a.m.
by Dr. Bill Turner
I hope you've got two dates circled on your Summer calendar because they're just around the corner!
Our Fifth Sunday Musicale happens this week! "With a Voice of Singing"
is the theme. Our choir and orchestra will welcome Donna Bonner and the
members of Cantabile to help lead this special service. They will be a
wonderful addition to our worship time - and the whole service will be one of
inspiration and praise. Bring a guest . . . come early to greet other guests . . .
and be ready to sing!
Our first Potluck Sunday happens on June 7th - with great food and great
fellowship! Here's the thing - outside of Sunday worship, we don't have many
opportunities to get together as a church family OR to bring a guest. Here's a
chance to enjoy a great meal . . . to get better acquainted with our own
members. . . AND TO BRING A GUEST TO LUNCH AND WORSHIP. It's
a great way to kick off our outreach efforts for the month of June.
The SDA board will be considering our request for three more Potluck
Sundays (July 12, August 9, and October 11), and we'll have our annual Picnic
(September) and Thanksgiving Luncheon (November) as well.
We Gather for Bible

Church-Wide Potluck on Sunday, June 7
by Carolyn Blair
Join us immediately after church on Sunday, June 7, in the gymnasium for
great food, fun and a time of fellowship. The Church will provide the meat,
drinks and bread. We are trying something new to make sure we have a
variety of food. If your last name starts with the letters A-G, please bring
salads. If your last name starts with the letters H-P, please bring vegetables.
If your last name starts with the letters Q-Z, please bring desserts. Please
bring enough for your family and extra to share with others. We ask that you
let our social committee knows if this works well for you so we will know
what to do at future potlucks. Don't forget to "Reach Out" and invite someone
to attend with you.
Reach Out in June!
by Ron Reaguer
People respond to personal invitations when being invited to church better
than they do by reading it in the paper or hearing it on the radio. We hope you
will give some thought about the people in your life that you would like to
invite to church and then make the effort to invite them in the month of June.
For those of you on Facebook, send a personal request to a friend. Guests can
stop by the Hospitality table and pick up a little gift. Reach out to them and
make them feel welcome! (Matthew 10:40)

With a Voice of Singing is the theme of our next Fifth Sunday Musicale on

instrumentalists, we will have the opportunity of hearing Cantabile, a choral
group of fifteen singers directed by Donna Bonner, one of our own members
here at Faith Fellowship. The title of the group comes from the Latin
derivative meaning “to sing.” This a capella choir will present music with
beautiful harmonies as well as energetic spirituals. Cantabile was formed in
2012 and regularly presents concerts in the Lexington area. This past Sunday
they were featured on the concert series of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church
here in Lexington. Donna, the choral director of Cantabile was the choral
director at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School since its inception until her
retirement a few years ago.

Prayer Requests
by John Compton
Finally, after a bout with extreme laziness and recovery from the by-pass
surgery, let us learn more about another Faith Fellowship member.
It is always easy to find an interesting member to write about even if the
writing isn’t interesting. Our congregation is blessed with former teachers
and nurses. Charlotte Krasinski has lived a very interesting life. She grew
up in Louisville but escaped in time to enroll (and graduate) from Eastern

Pray for Richard Potts who is
recovering from surgery on Friday
as a result of the accident.
Charlotte makes herself available for whatever task the church may need;
currently she is President of the Women of Faith and serves on the
Administrative Board.
Thank you Charlotte and thanks to our late friend, Gertrude Gajardo, for
her influence upon your decision to join us at Faith Fellowship.
Pray for Fred Smith who is

Paul Engelbrecht requests prayer

Lewis has been diagnosed with

affects the liver, and is
progressive. He is in the

as long as 10 years to reach a
critical stage. Please pray for God
to intervene.
Helen Crews asks for prayer for
her great nephew, Joe Starks,

in early August. He is a recent

by God to serve Him in this way.
Joe’s parents ask for prayer for
Joe’s safety and for peace and

Pray for Scot Reeves whose Uncle
Chuck died recently. Please keep

they mourn his passing.
