Etsy Australia 2013 West End Markets Workshop The West End Markets are Hedland's only dedicated makers' markets and since their inception in late 2010, they have established themselves as a popular creative and social event in the community and broader Pilbara region – with stall holders and visitors alike travelling from other regional towns to take part. The Markets enable a stronger cultural footprint for the region and enhance opportunities for emerging and established local micro businesses. The markets will bring together artists, crafts people, provedores, food and plant growers to sell high quality produce, bringing it directly from the maker/grower to the customer. The markets are supported by BHP Billiton, Horizon Power, Boom Sherrin, Liberty Industrial, Inline Engineering Services, ESS Compass Group, Onsite Rentals and A1 Labour Management. The dates for the 2013 West End Markets are: April 20, June 29, August 31 and October TBA. Running times will be released shortly. The Markets are back in 2013 and with another successful year behind us, this year our aim is to engage with and foster more local creatives, provedores and growers – encouraging them to create and sell the highest quality of product possible. We aim to do this through providing opportunities for creative and skills-based development to allow stallholders to build their skills, develop their product and gain marketing knowledge. In preparation for the April markets, FORM will be initiating the first stallholder workshop for 2013, starting with the experts behind the world’s largest community of independent handmade businesses – Etsy Australia, on Saturday February 16. Etsy is an online handmade craft marketing website that started in 2005. With over 22 million members and over 800,000 active shops today, Etsy.com reaches 22 countries worldwide and they are coming to your town! Etsy is more than a market place, they are a community of artists, creators, collectors, thinkers and doers , and they will guide you during three workshop topics to advance or kick start your business. On the day participants will have the exciting opportunity to meet and work with via weblink, Etsy Australia’s team of handmade business experts, who will mentor ways to advance your products both online, at markets and in stores and galleries and assist your product to visually appeal to the eye, all of which can be applied to any product and for either established or beginning businesses. Please note: this workshop is suitable for all craftspeople, even if you do not have an Etsy store – the information presented can be adapted to all business types, online, market stalls, shops and social media sites.
