Howard Park Painting Workshop A chance for artists of all levels to challenge themselves and share the company of fellow painters. July 13-17 10:00am – 3:00pm August 10-14 10:00am - 3:00pm This week-long class will focus on two techniques: v A process called line and wash, a watercolor technique, where the initial painting is drawn with pen and ink, then color washes are applied. v Oil painting in the premier coup, or direct method. This is an impressionist technique where the painting is done in one stage. Fee: $300 plus cost of materials for members and $325 plus cost of materials for non-members. Howard Park lives in Stonington, CT where he owns HGPark Fine Art located in the old Velvet Mill. He attended the Masters of Fine Arts program at Tufts University and studied at the School of The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA with continued studies in France at L'Ecole d'Art Decoratife Nice, where he won a National prize in photography. Howard offers oil painting workshops to adults and teaches watercolor painting to children ages 6-11. Most of all he enjoys painting in his studio at the Velvet Mill. His love of the sea and maritime culture is evident in his oil paintings and watercolors.
