Art Adventures
Greetings to our dear friends from the
Edin’s here in Venice, Florida! We are
both doing well and I have recouped
wonderfully from my DBS surgery at
the Mayo Clinic last fall. As we approach the beautiful spring season our
thoughts go to planning our summer
activities which this summer include a
family reunion, the three months will
be spent up north in Canada at our Lake
of the Woods cabin, visiting friends in
Staples and teaching two workshops.
In two weeks we will leave here and fly
to Chicago to celebrate our granddaughter Kaitlin’s graduation from
North Park University. From there she,
her parents and we are flying to Athens,
Greece where we will spend a little
over 2 weeks visiting Athens, the
Greek Isles and Istanbul, Turkey.
Now for some news about my painting!
My American Watercolor Society
award winning painting “Mykonos” is
currently touring the United States. I
also have a painting in the book
“Splash 15 – The
Best of Watercolor”. Another
painting “Birds
of a Feather” has
been chosen for
inclusion in the
spring Transparent Watercolor
Society of America exhibition.
In that I am
teaching fewer
workshops these days they generally
fill up quickly. If the workshop is
filled be sure to ask to be on the
waiting list as there are always a few
who cancel. Detailed information on
my workshop format is on my web
site: www.roseedin.com.

Painting and photography with Stan and Rose Edin.
Blossoming trees, gardens, castles, manor houses, thatched roof houses, harbors, wooden boats, mountains,
rivers and churches are some of the images we have carried with us since our last art adventure trip to Ireland
in 1999. It is a magical land! Together, these images and the people of this country made a great impression
on us. We loved the story telling, singing, dancing and folklore of this island!
Because of these indelible memories
we have chosen to again visit Ireland
a little over a year from now. We
have secured the services of Batt
Burns to again be our guide and story
telling entertainer. He is the author
of several books and has won the AllIreland Teacher’s talent competition.
He has presented courses on Irish
Studies at numerous American universities and we have visited with him
when he has been in the States.
Our Art Adventure will take us to several parts of the country, usually staying 3 nights in each place to get the general “flavor” of the area. Painting and photography sites are carefully
chosen. Some of the areas we will visit are Dublin, Glendalough, Kilmore Quay, Tintern Abbey, Dunmore East
Harbor, Kilkenny design workshop, Rock of Cashel, Cobh Harbor, Sneem (home of our guide Batt), Kenmare,
Kilkenny and Killarney. Our hotels are all four star and will include famous manor houses. We will be entertained with an Irish Hooley and a special program on Ireland by Batt. A large breakfast is served every day
plus 5 dinner meals in the evenings. All entry fees are included in these first class trip. Our transportation is a
deluxe motor coach with restroom.
This all-inclusive trip with
airfare from the states is
priced at around $4700. We
are privileged to have the
same supplier as last time in
Ireland, Group Travel, out of
Minneapolis. You may reach
them at www.gtd.org. Let
Stan and I know if you are
interested in this trip and we
will send you a brochure as
soon as it is available. Write
me at: roseedin@gmail.com.
