This lead up to spring has certainly been busy in the rainbow room! Despite all of the snow days, the Parkland School District’s Annual Food Drive kicked off March 9th and ran through March 20th. It has been a school-wide effort to make this year’s food drive a success. A group of 20 5th grade Peer Mediators volunteered each morning to help collect food as students brought in their donations. Three small groups of 3rd and 4th grade students wrote and starred in commercials to advertise for the food drive on the morning news. Each day a student donated food they were entered in a raffle and three students were chosen to go on a field trip to deliver the food. Additionally, the class with the most donations won a yogurt parfait party. April 13th marks the start of PSSA testing for all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. *English Language Arts Assessment: April 13th – 16th *Mathematics Assessment: April 20th – 22nd *Science (4th grade only): April 27th – 28th Your support and encouragement will be especially important for your child during this testing period.
