About the award categories:
The categories recognise the high standards of quality and excellence offered
across Devon's vast range of food & drink businesses, demonstrating excellence
and innovation throughout their business including their product, welcome,
service and marketing.
How the Awards work:
The purpose of the awards is to champion, highlight and showcase Devon’s
producers, small farming businesses and suppliers and to promote the fantastic
food and drink industry we have here in the South West.
There are sixteen categories of awards up for nomination, from Best
Restaurant and Pub of the Year to Best Farmers Market and Chef of the Year.
Our readers will be sending in their nominations and once we've done the
sums and added up the thousands of votes, the three businesses with the most
reader votes in each category will be judged by a 'mystery shopper'. Each
sponsor and finalist will be invited to join VIP guests and local food industry
experts at the black tie evening awards ceremony.
The 2015 awards will be launched online and in the July issue of Devon Life and
will receive regular coverage throughout the year.
The black tie awards evening will be held on Thursday 5th November at Sandy
Park in Exeter. The evening will begin with a sparkling drinks reception followed
by a three-course dinner, enjoying some of the best Devon produce on offer,
before the winners are announced and the awards are presented. Our live band
will then play on past midnight to create a party atmosphere and celebrate the
achievements of the evening.
