European competition of creative digital videos
Regulation for the Competition
Article 1: Definition and purpose
Just like Vidéographies [21] Festival in 2010, the contest Eurovideo 2015 aims to develop
contemporary creation in the fields of digital images, cinema, television and audiovisual arts and
to promote young artists (students and freshly graduated people) to the professional
environment.
There are three categories: Films and Videos, Interactive installations and Transmedia projects.
The Films and Videos category is for artists under the age of 30, who are residing in the European
Union or in a candidate country for accession to the European Union or in any other country
showing interest to join it. The Interactive installations and Transmedia projects categories are for artists
under the age of 30, Belgians or residing in Belgium.
In the spirit of Videographies ASBL and its partners Mons 2015 European Capital of Culture, the
Théâtre de Liège, RTBF and RTC Liège, the contest will reward the most original and creative
pieces. Experimentations, new image technologies, new forms and contents and new writings
(image, sound, narrative) are encouraged.
The Festival will take place in Liege (Belgium) on the 17th, 18th and 19th of March 2015, at Liege’s
Theatre. It will also be transmitted simultaneously by RTC Liège in the Europa Cafes situated in
several European cities and organized by Mons 2015.
Article 2: Categories
Projects must fit one of these three categories:
1. Films and Videos (Category for Europeans and citizens in the countries that wish to join the
European Union)
2. Interactive Installations (Category for Belgians and people residing in Belgium)
3. Transmedia Projects (Category for Belgians and people residing in Belgium)

Article 3: Prizes and Jury
Received works will be preselected by the programming committee of Videographies ASBL and
Mons 2015 European Capital of Culture.
For the Films and Videos category, an official European jury of professionals (artists, curators,
teachers and image professionals) will award prizes at the Eurovideo 2015 Festival, on the 19th of
March.
o The Grand Prix of Eurovideo 2015 Festival (2.500€)
o The Innovation Award for technology or treatment innovation (1.250€)
o The Innovation Award for the most significant content (1.250€)
The European Audience Award (1.250€) will be voted by the audiences in Liege’s Theatre and in the
Europa Cafes. The votes will be gathered during the Eurovideo 2015 Festival.
For the Interactive installations and Transmedia Projects categories, an official Belgian jury of
professionals (artists, curators, teachers and image professionals) will award prizes.
o The Best Interactive Installation (1.250€)
o The Best Transmedia Project (1.250€)
The Juries have the right not to grant prizes.
The Juries are sovereign.
No prize shall be exchanged for cash or for any other prize.
The name of the beneficiary can’t be changed.
No complaint will be authorized about the awarding.
Article 4: Conditions and inscription
All genders, topics and movement images techniques are accepted if the creations are the
expression of oneself about significant contents with an original and contemporary writing.
Files must be written in English or French and the videos in other languages must be subtitled in
English or French.
For the Films and Videos category:
The Films and Videos category is for artists under the age of 30, who are residing in the European
Union or in a candidate country for accession to the European Union or in any other country
showing interest to join it.
The Eurovideo 2015 Festival promotes short length videos. The submitted videos must be under
10 minute’s long.
However, the selection committee has the right to program any interesting longer video
submitted out of competition.

- A file including a nomination grid, a CV, a statement of intent and authorizations of
diffusion and filing.

For the Interactive Installations category:
This category is reserved for Belgian artists or any artists living in Belgium.

For the Transmedia Projects category:
This category is reserved for Belgian artists or any artists living in Belgium.

The detailed transmedia project with its architecture and images or any other relevant
documents.
There is no entry fee.
The submitted files will not be returned.
Entrants must commit not to remove their video or their project from the contest after the
confirmation of their selection.
Videographies ASBL will not participate in the production or any financial support of the works.
Complete registration dossier must be received by Videographies ASBL before February 15th at
midnight; except by prior agreement.

Article 5: Distribution
Films and Videos:
The selected videos for the competition will be projected at the Eurovideo 2015 Festival at
Liege’s Theatre on the 17th and 18th of March. They will also be transmitted simultaneously by
RTC Liège in the Europa Cafes situated in several European cities and organized by Mons 2015.
The winning videos will be shown at Liege’s Theatre and in Europa Cafes on the 19th of March.
Later, they will be broadcasted on RTBF (Belgian national television) and RTC Liege (Belgian
local television).
Interactive Installations:
The programming committee will select the most interesting works and will expose them at
Liege’s Theatre during the Eurovideo 2015 Festival.
The winning installation will also be exposed in Mons 2015 European Capital of Culture; in
November 2015.
Transmedia Project:
The winning project will be transmitted to producers interested by this kind of production.
Article 6: Declaration of the results
Each entrant in the contest (17th and 18th of March 2015) will receive mail in the end of February
notifying the selection of his/her work or project.
The declaration of the results will take place on the 19th of March 2015 at Liege’s Theatre.
As far as possible, winners can, if they wish, come to take their awards in Liege during the
Eurovideo 2015 Festival.
Article 7: Responsibilities and rights
The subscription to the competition constitutes agreement between Videographies and the
authors with the terms and conditions of this document.
Contents and opinions of the submitted videos enforce the duty or liability of its author only.
Each entrant must remember that he/she is responsible for the video’s content.
Videographies ASBL encourages each participant to check the Copyright law of the European
Union, both as regards to images and music. Each participant guarantees Videographies ASBL
against any third party claims about the content of the video, which includes Copyright law.
Each participant remains the owner of the submitted video. However, by subscribing its video,
he/she authorizes Videographies ASBL or any third party linked to Videographies ASBL,
without remuneration and in the entire world, to reproduce and communicate to the public its
video, on any format and processes related to Videographies ASBL’s activities.

Article 8: Cancelation
Videographies ASBL has the right to postpone, to change, to interrupt or to cancel the
competition, without notice, in circumstances beyond our control.
