The custom was rooted in the musings of early church theologians that God played a practical joke on the devil by raising Jesus from the dead. Deer Park Church will continue this tradition, with the theme this year of "Hats off to the Lord!” Expect to experience expressions of Easter joy along with light-hearted music, jokes, and skits. So, on April 12, you are encouraged to wear a smile, your brightest colors, and especially a funny hat...or any hat you’d like to wear, even an Easter hat. And, oh yes, invite a friend or two to share the fun!--Joy Grimm for the Worship Team Administrative Council — Monday, March 16, 2015 The budget for DPUMC was submitted and approved by all present at the Council Meeting. This is being tested as a better method of keeping the congregation up to date not only on happenings, etc. but also to allow reports and other information to be in the hands of the congregation faster than waiting for the bi-monthly newsletter. Please send the editor at communication@deerparkumc.net any comments or suggestions that you may have or contact the church office. Your input will be appreciated.
