1. Registration for this show is done online. After reviewing the prospectus thoroughly, artists may submit

available this year. No drop-off registrations will be accepted at Gallery North.
To register visit: http://www.gallerynorthedmonds.com/showReg.html
If there are questions regarding the online registration process, contact Catherine James
at gallerynorth401@gmail.com or 425-985-2291. Payment can be made online as part of the registration
process, by mailing a check, or by visiting the gallery in person to pay. All registration payments must be
received by the gallery no later than July 15th; artwork will not be considered for the show unless
payment is received by this date.
2. Artwork submissions must be no longer than 24 inches in either dimension measured from the outside
edge of the frame. Measurements must include the frame. Any framed work measuring longer than 24
inches in either dimension will not be accepted. Please double-check your measurements.
3. Accepted media include painting, drawing, printmaking, and collage (with painting dominant).
No photography, computer generated work or 3-dimensional work please.
4. Only original works will be accepted. Entries must not be copies, derivatives or based on the copyrighted
work of another artist. Artwork should be from the artist’s own original source materials. Entries should
not have been previously shown at Gallery North and should have been created in the last five years.
5. All artwork must properly finished and wired for hanging. Gallery-wrapped canvas is permitted when
sides of the canvas are finished. No wet artworks will be accepted. Saw tooth hangers, brackets, or
exposed glass edges are not permitted. Please carefully package all artwork for transport and storage to
avoid damage. Gallery North reserves the right to refuse any entry that does not meet the above
specifications or is deemed unacceptable for a family-friendly venue.
6. All works must be for sale.
7. Gallery North will retain a 40% commission from all works sold. For work sold during the show,
commissions from the gallery will be paid no later than the 20th of the month following the show. Note:
Artwork may be sold on a layaway basis. The artist agrees that the artist’s commission will be disbursed
once the artwork has been paid for in full. Gallery North layaway terms generally require that the layaway
be completed in 4 months, but Gallery North reserves the right to reasonably extend the time of the
layaway as it deems appropriate. Artists will be notified about any layaway changes that affect them.
8. Artists’ images submitted may be used to promote the show to the public via publications (print and
online), social media, and on postcards, and posters. The artists retain rights to their work and the gallery
will only use the images for promotional purposes.
9. Images submitted must have a minimum 1000 pixels on the shortest side. All entries will be juried based
on the image submitted with registration. Artists should ensure that images of artwork are of good quality
and are representative of the original.
10. Artists are encouraged to register at least one of their pieces by June 17 to be considered for selection as
the 2015 Beauty of the Northwest poster image. The poster winner must be able to submit a highresolution digital image of their artwork upon request (approx. 3000 x 4000 pixels). The artist whose work
is selected for this year’s show poster will receive a prize of $100.
Delivery and Pick-Up:
1. The gallery will notify artists on July 17 whether their work has been accepted into the show.
2. Accepted work should be delivered to Gallery North on Friday, July 31st, between 11am and 5pm, or
Saturday, August 1st between 10am and 12 noon. All submissions should be packed securely for delivery
and storage. If the artist chooses to mail their entry, it must be accompanied by return USPS Priority Mail
Flat Rate Postage plus insurance* and must reach the gallery no later than August 1st, 2015. Artworks that
arrive without proper return postage will be held after the show for pick up by the artist. Please do not
hand-deliver artworks before July 31st without special permission by Catherine James at
gallerynorth401@gmail.com. All artwork must remain in the gallery for the duration of the show unless
sold.
3. With proper receipt, any unsold artworks may be picked up by the artist August 30 or 31st, 11am-5pm. The
artist must contact Catherine James at gallerynorth401@gmail.com if unable to pick up artwork on these
dates. If artwork is not picked up or the gallery is not contacted and other arrangements agreed upon, the
artwork is considered abandoned and will become the property of the gallery.
Liability:
The gallery’s insurance does not cover artwork. The gallery suggests that artists carry their own insurance.
While every precaution will be taken to avoid damages, all artists who enter this show agree that Gallery
North and its members will not be held responsible for any loss or damage incurred.
*Return postage must be for a USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate and include the cost of a box large enough to safely hold
entries. Insurance must also be included. For more information, please visit www.usps.com.
