PLEASE DO NOT FAX ENTRIES! Every Exhibitor, rider, driver, handler and trainer or his/her agent(s) must sign an entry blank. In the case of a rider, driver or handler under the age of 18, a parents or guardian must sign an entry blank on the minor's behalf. Post entries will be accepted with an additional fee of $50.00. Stall fees must accompany entry to insure reservation. Each entry will pay the USEF fee of $16.00 (Drugs and Medications fee $8.00/ USEF Federation fee $8.00), as well as the $2.00 USHJA Zone Support Fee. All Adds & Scratches must be made in the horse show office before the class starts. Scheduling difficulties at this show demand that you enter early and not attempt to add at the in-gate. USEF/USHJA CREDENTIALS AND MEASUREMENT CARDS All participants must present to the show secretary current USEF and USHJA membership cards or copies thereof. Amateur certification and measurement cards for Junior Hunters and Pony Hunters must be presented to the horse show secretary before numbers will be issued. USHJA HORSE REGISTRATION All horses competing in Federation non-breed restricted licensed competitions with hunter, hunter breeding, jumper and hunter seat equitation classes (exception: costume entries and leadline entries) must be properly registered with USHJA. Forms available with the horse show secretaries. MEASUREMENT Horses and ponies without a current valid measurement card issued by USEF will be measured by the horse show steward. Check with the horse show secretaries for a measurement schedule. GROUNDS FEE A grounds Fee of $50.00 - for the week of the show - will be charged for each horse brought not in a stall. NON-SHOWING HORSE FEE A non-showing fee of $135.00 will be charged for each horse, pony, mule, etc. stabled on the grounds and not in competition in a complete division. Non-showing horses must complete and sign an entry blank with the horse show secretaries. EXHIBITOR PASSES No more than 2 parking and 2 exhibitor passes provided per entered horse or pony. Additional passes will be available in the horse show office at a cost of $5.00 per exhibitor pass and $10 per parking pass. COGGINS TEST A Current negative Coggins Test certificate dated within one year must be included with entry. Health certificates with ALL ENTERED HORSES must be available as well. STABLING Permanent stabling of 260 stalls and additional tents are on the show grounds at a cost of $175.00 per stall. All stalls are approx. 10x10 w/doors. All stall fees must be paid before stall will be reserved. Bagged shavings will be available through the show office and may be charged to your account. Stabling will be available from 12:00 noon on the Sunday prior to the show until 12:00 noon on the Sunday following the show. REFUND POLICY: Entry fees will be refunded only upon presentation of a vet certificate before June 9 th. After an entry is accepted, stall fees will be charged even if a horse is scratched. There will be a scratch fee equal to the office fee for any entry withdrawn/scratched after the entry has been accepted. HORSE SHOW OFFICE The Horse Show Office will be open by 10:00 a.m. the day prior to the start of the show for processing entries. The office will open 1 hour prior to the start of the show each day. No numbers will be issued without an open check or credit card filed with the show secretaries. No Exceptions. RV PARKING RV Parking is available at a rate of $250.00 for the entire show or any portion of the show. Space is limited. SCHOOLING, WARM-UP AND MEDIC For the convenience of exhibitors schooling will be allowed throughout the day on Monday, beginning at 10:00 A.M. All horses will be required to pay a $30.00 schooling fee. Approved hard hats must be worn with chin-straps fastened. No poling or offset oxers will be allowed at any time. Medic fee of $15 for all entries. CLASSES The Management reserves the right to limit entries, alter courses; prohibit or disqualify exhibitors; change, cancel, limit or combine classes at its discretion to compensate for excessive or inadequate entries or due to acts of nature, without claim for damages. OFFICIALS The show committee reserves the right to substitute a show official in the event of failure of an advertised show official to attend this show or perform his duties. PROPER ATTIRE It is the tradition of the show ring that riders and drivers and handlers be correctly attired for all classes and that horses be properly presented. All riders in Hunter, Jumper and Hunter Seat Equitation sections must wear properly fitting, “approved” protective headgear while riding in the designated schooling and exercising areas, the show ring, and while mounted anywhere on the competition grounds. Harness must be secured and properly fitted. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until his headgear is properly in place. Formal attire is required in the Grand Prix. Proper attire will be required in all Classics. FOOTING All show and warm up rings are made of all weather footing of sand and limestone screenings. Arena dimensions as follows: Main arena-130’x250’, North arena-112’x215’, South arena-120’x224’. pg. 8 MOTORIZED VEHICLE STATEMENT Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/ or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. HUNTER AND JUMPER CHAMPIONSHIPS Hunter Championships & Jumper Championships will be awarded on the basis of points won in classes throughout the section. TROPHIES, RIBBONS AND PRIZE MONEY A trophy and ribbons 1st – 8th will be awarded in classes unless otherwise specified. Prize money will not be credited to exhibitor's account without a current Social Security #. Refunds, if owed will be mailed promptly. COURTESY CIRCLE A dotted line may be put into effect at Management's discretion. JUMP ORDER A rotating jumping order will be established and posted for all jumper classes. All horses must be ridden in the posted order. Riders and trainers who have conflicts due to multiple entries in a class must see the starter so that necessary adjustments can be made. DOGS Germantown has a strict “Leash Law”, and unleashed dogs are subject to impoundment and their owners fined. Loose dogs that are a problem, especially if caught in any arena will cost exhibitor $100.00. The foregoing shall be included as a condition of entry. WARNING Under Tennessee Law, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated, title 44, chapter 20. 44-20-103. Limitation on liability for injury or death of participant Except as provided in §44-20-104, an equine activity sponsor, an equine professional, or any other person, which shall include a corporation or partnership, shall not be liable for an injury to or the death of a participant resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities. Except as provided in §44-20-104, no participant or participant's representative shall make any claim against, maintain an action against, or recover from an equine activity sponsor, an equine professional, or any other person for injury, loss, damage, or death of the participant resulting from any of the inherent risks of equine activities. USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3)games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. FEDERATION ENTRY AGREEMENT By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing this entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of The United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. (the “Federation”) and the local rules of (Competition). I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition. I will accept as final the decision of the Hearing Committee on any question arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Federation, their officials, directors and employees for any action taken under the Rules. The top fifteen scores from the first round will return to jump a second round of approximately 10-12 fences with a posted order of low fences to higher fences, on Friday evening. The horse must show at the same height as in the first round qualifier. On deck horse must be ready and standing by the announcer’s stand. Scores will be added from both rounds to determine the winners. In case of a tie for first place only, the tied horses will jump a third round over a shortened course as a tie-breaker. Versatility Challenge Entry fee: $300 CLASS SPECIFICATIONS Open to all riders and horses. Ponies may not compete. The same rider must compete in both phases. Cross-entry dependant on current USEF and USHJA Zone 4 rules. This class will not count toward any USEF National or Zone awards. Part A. Classic Hunter Style Round 1. A minimum of ten (10) obstacles will be offered in the Classic Hunter Style Round. 2. Fences will be set at 3’3” to 3’6” in height. 3. Course to include at least one In & Out, one Bending Line and one fence with a long approach. 4. Jumps: Typical hunter-style jumps to be used in this round. 5. Points awarded for placings 1st – 12th as follows: 26-22-20-18-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-10. Part B. Jumper Speed Round 1. The top twelve horses from the 1st round will be eligible to return for the Jumper Round. 2. This phase to be conducted under Table II.1 – fastest clear round. 3. A minimum of eight (8) obstacles will be offered in the Jumper Speed Round. 4. Fences will be set at 3’6” in height, spreads not to exceed 4’0”. 5. Course to include at least 1 combination (double or triple) and 1 water obstacle ie: liverpool. 6. Jumps: Without a complete transformation of the original Hunter course, typical jumperstyle fences with striped rails will be used. 7. In the jumper phase, only running martingales may be used per USEF rule JP111.1C. 8. Points awarded for placings 1st – 12th as follows: 26-22-20-18-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-10. Overall Awards: The horse with the highest point total from both rounds will be the winner. Only ties for 1st place will be broken with a shortened jump-off course. All other ties will be decided on by the tied horses scores in the hunter round. The tied horse with the highest hunter round score will take the lead (for example: entry #s 227 and 301 are tied for 3rd place overall. Entry # 227 had a hunter round score of 80 and entry #301 had a hunter round score of 77 so #227 would end up 3rd overall and #301 would end up 4th).
