The Giving Tree
Teaching Children About Charity
The Giving Tree is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit
organization with the mission of the charitable
education of children. We invite schools, families,
teams and groups to join our mission and work
toward empowering children to be leaders and to
give back at any age.
Welcome to the first Giving Tree family newsletter.
We hope you and your children will enjoy spending a few
minutes together reviewing and discussing. Our Helping
Hands project is all wrapped up. Our deliveries have been
made and we send a great big thank you to our friends who
volunteer their time to make these special deliveries.
The April calendar is busy. The 23rd is Take Your
Daughter/Son to Work Day and we have numerous Girl Scout
Troops working service badges. Now that the weather is
nice, the running groups are working on their service
projects as well. If you have a group that would like to host
a community service project, please email us at
info@givingtreefamilies.org .
#TWITTER – HASHTAG – TRENDING#
The Giving Tree would like to spread the word of
giving and share the wonderful things children can do.
Each month we are going to ask you to tweet your
reply to our topic. Next month we will share some of
our best tweets! Jimmy Fallon has made this a
fabulous feature on his show and we know we can do
the same!
APRIL TWITTER TOPIC:
Tell us how your kids like to give back to the community.
#kidscangiveback
For example: My 9 yr old loves to bake. Once a month she
makes & takes cookies to the local firehouse!

APRIL 20TH
Volunteer Recognition Day honors the
many volunteers who give of themselves to
causes and helping others. They are
making a difference, big or small, to the
lives of many in the world.
Volunteers are everywhere!
• Hospitals
• Fire Departments
• Blood Drives
• Schools
• Community Sports Teams
• Senior Citizen Services
Think about how you can let them know
your appreciate all the amazing work they
do. Write a thank you card, make a pan of
brownies, draw a picture or just take a few
moments of your time to thank them for
their time with The Giving Tree Volunteer
Sweet Bags. With a donation of $25 to
The Giving Tree, we will provide you and
your family with a Sweet Bag Kit to make
50 Volunteer Sweet Bags.
