The sun is always shining at the Greenwood Lake Public Library!
2015/2016 Budget News – Shown below is important information
regarding the 2015/2016 budget:
• All residents of the Greenwood Lake Union Free School District
are eligible to vote; our vote is NOT restricted to Village
residents.
• The Library budget vote is separate from the school budget
vote and is held at the Library. Your Library tax appears as a
separate line item on your school tax bill.
• The Library’s fiscal year runs from July through June.
• The budget hearing will be held approximately 10 days before the
vote and will be publicized in The Warwick Valley Dispatch and
The Times Herald Record. Patrons are welcome to come to
review the proposed budget at that time with Laura Ronayne,
Treasurer, and Sandy Newman, Assistant Treasurer. For those
who are unable to make the hearing, the budget materials will be
available for review at the Front Desk. For questions, please call
Sandy Newman at Ext. 102.
• The 2015-2016 budget vote is on Thursday,
May 21st, 2015, from 2-8 p.m., at the
Library.
• The Board of Trustees meets monthly
and the meeting date is listed on our
web site at www.gwllibrary.org.
Children’s and Young Adult Program Highlights – We would like
to highlight the following children’s and young adult programs:
Kaplan ACT/SAT Combo Practice Test
Saturday (1/17) 1-5 p.m. (High School students only)
Come to the Library to take the Kaplan ACT/SAT Combo Practice
test. Don’t miss this opportunity to get ready for the real thing!

Teen Volunteers Needed to Build our Mini-Golf Course!
Thursday (3/19) 5-8 p.m. (Grades 5-12)
Have fun creating our golf course, enjoy some pizza, and earn some
community service hours.
Library Mini-Golf Fundraiser
Saturday (3/21)
5-7 p.m. – Families with children 7 and under
7-8 p.m. – Children 8-12 on their own or with family
8-9 p.m. – Teen golf volunteers
Come enjoy the wonderful world of Mini-Golf inside your Library!
Cost is $1.50 per child, not to exceed $5 per family. Funds raised by
this FUNdraiser will be help support more great children’s
programming.

Registration is required for all Adult, Young Adult, Children, and Family programs and may be done either in
person or by telephone at (845) 477-8377 Ext. 101 (unless in-person registration is required where noted).
When noted, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Seating is limited; early registration is highly recommended.
For additional information about a particular program, please call the individual staff member as noted.
Patrons of all abilities are welcome to register for Library programs. However, if you are in need of assistance
for a particular program, we graciously request that you bring along a caretaker to assist you. Unfortunately, due
to the time constraints for our programs, the Programmer is unable to offer individualized attention; thus, having
a caretaker accompany you will be most helpful to you, as well as to the Programmer.

Our digitization of local history continues. Our
web site currently has available Wilbur Christman’s
scrapbooks, many Greenwood Lake local
newspapers, the Library newsletters, as well as local
obituaries.
Digitization is an expensive process. Please
