We have several exciting announcements this week! We are proud to announce that
two of our Hanover Highlands students were awarded a Scholarship through the
Schaumburg Township Council of PTAs Elementary School Scholarship Program!
Congratulations to all of the winners of the 2015-2016 Early Bird PTA Membership
drawing and congratulations to the winning classroom of the Box Tops and Labels For
Education Contest!
Get ready for the Bookmobile! Do you like to read but don’t have
time to go to the library? Come to Hanover Highlands over the
summer and check out books from the Bookmobile! See flyer for
full details and available dates.
You asked and PTA listened. Your Hanover Highlands PTA is always looking for ways to
better serve YOU, our Hanover Community. Earlier this year, many parents requested
more hot lunch days and PTA was able to offer additional Pizza Thursdays to help fill
this need. We are pleased to advise that Thursday Pizza Day has been approved again
for the new school year. To help alleviate the problem of running out of pizza, next
year’s Pizza Day will be run on a monthly prepaid basis (similar to hot lunch) so all
students who preorder are guaranteed to receive their slice(s). Watch for the prepaid
Pizza Order Form in the new school year.
The Schaumburg Township Elementary School Scholarship Foundation is hosting two
upcoming events: Join the fun at Family Night Out with the Schaumburg BOOMERS
th
where EVERYONE runs the bases or sign up for the 18 Annual Golf Outing! See full
details enclosed.
Our 2015-2016 PTA Executive Committee is already busy planning for the new school
year. If you have ideas to share, would like information on programs & events or
would like to volunteer please don’t hesitate to contact any of our board members.
We appreciate your input and support.
Enjoy your long weekend,
Cindy Galer

Dear Parents,
We enjoyed working with your children with reading this year. We want
them to keep reading throughout the summer so that they will be ready for the
next grade. We are excited to share with you a great way for your children to get
more books to read this summer. The Schaumburg Library has a Bookmobile that
goes around Schaumburg and other areas during the summer. The Bookmobile will
be coming to Hanover Highlands School this summer! The Bookmobile brings books
to be checked out. You do not need to have a library card to check out books.
You will sign when you borrow the books, and you can return them in two weeks
when the Bookmobile comes back for another visit or you can return the books to
the Schaumburg Library.
The Bookmobile will be visiting Hanover Highlands at the following times:
Tuesday, June 23 at 1-1:45 pm
Tuesday, July 7 at 1-1:45 pm
Tuesday, July 21 at 1-1:45 pm
Then from 1:45-2:30pm all children are invited inside Hanover for a read aloud and
activity with Hanover Highlands staff members!
June 23 – Blackout by John Rocco
Staff Members: Mrs. Anderson, Ms. Shike, Mrs. Houston, Ms. Huntenburg
July 7 – Rhyming Dust Bunnies by Jan Thomas
Staff Members: Ms. Graham, Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Fitzpatrick, Mrs.
Hellstrom
July 21 – The Day I Lost my Superpowers by Michael Escoffier
Staff Members: Ms. Graham, Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Pullins, Mrs. Wood
We hope that you can bring your children to the school at these times to pick
books and participate in fun activities. Remember that children stay more
interested in reading when they can choose their books and when they have
something new to read.
Sincerely,
Hanover Bookmobile Committee
Estimados padres,
Hanover Highlands!
El 23 de junio – Blackout por John Rocco
Miembros del personal: Mrs. Anderson, Ms. Shike, Mrs. Houston, Ms.
Huntenburg
El 7 de julio – Rhyming Dust Bunnies por Jan Thomas
Miembros del personal: Ms. Graham, Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Fitzpatrick,
Mrs. Hellstrom
El 21 de julio – The Day I Lost my Superpowers por Michael Escoffier
Miembros del personal: Ms. Graham, Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Pullins, Mrs.
Wood
