Livestock Fair
Yes, parents and other adults can volunteer their
time to help youth in our 4-H Clubs. Become
involved in your child’s activities. For our
children’s safety, all volunteer leaders must
undergo a background check and be approved
by the Youth Protection Management

After School Clubs
Come join us in our after school club! We do usually plan to
make “Tin Can Ice Cream” at our last meeting of the school
year. We meet monthly in each elementary school from 2:30
p.m. to 3:30 p.m. If you would like to come join the fun, please

4-H Teen Club
May 7 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
If you are interested in learning leadership skills, and having
fun with other teens, then the 4-H Teen Club is for you! 4-H
Teen Club is for teens grades 6th-12th. This month we will be
preparing fundraising and volunteer ideas along with
geocaching!
Blue Ribbon Riders
May 8 @ 6 p.m. in the Expo Center
Do you love horses? Are you interested in learning and
understanding more about horses? Then come learn more at
the Blue Ribbon Riders meeting on May 8th. This month The
Blue Ribbon Riders are making homemade horse treats!
Dog Club
May 14 @ 6 p.m. at the Henderson County Fairgrounds
It’s finally that time….you get to bring your dog to Dog Club!
However, you must bring the proper paperwork which
includes proof of a rabies shot and that, if old enough, your
dog has been spade and neutered. For more information
please call the Extension Office! This month we will be
preparing for the Henderson County 4-H Pet Show during the
fair! So we will be learning from a trainer how to train your pet
dog as well as some tricks!

Do you love horses? Are you interested in learning and

H.E.Y. Club on May 26th and join the fun!
4-H Cooking Club
May 27 @ 4 p.m. in the Expo Center
Interested in learning how to cook? Come and visit the 4-H
Cooking Club and learn some quick, healthy afterschool
snacks along with bits of full course meals! Please RSVP at

Teen Conference
June 8th-11th
About to graduate 8th grade or in high school? Not
going to camp but still want to be involved in 4-H the
second week of June? Then check out Teen
Conference! Held at the University of Kentucky for
all 4-H members across the state! At 4-H Teen
Conference you can develop leadership skills and try
anything from rugby to CSI to climbing a rock wall
while meeting students all across the state!
4-H CAMP
June 9-12 in Dawson Springs, Kentucky at West
Kentucky 4-H Camp
Cost: $185
Is it summer yet? Don’t worry, 4-H Camp will be
here before you know it. Join us for a week of fun in
the sun at West Kentucky 4-H Camp! There will be
classes in canoeing, nature and wildlife, archery and
best of all SWIM TIME!!! Get your floaties and
sunblock ready, and come ready to make a ton of
new friends. Registration form is due by May 15th
with down payment. Spots are limited!!
Poultry Barbeque Event!
July 1
In July we are going to be hosting an event along with
Webster and Ohio Counties for youth to learn how to
barbeque a chicken! We will provide the chicken, and all
you need to learn as well as barbecue a chicken! More
details are coming soon! Please contact the office for
more information and to reserve your spot! Space is
limited!
Trail Mix!
Servings 15-20
Ingredients
 1 cup Cheerios toasted oat cereal (honey nut, plain and apple cinnamon
work equally as well)
 1 cup goldfish crackers OR 1 cup other cheese crackers
 1 cup cherry-flavored dried cranberries or other favorite dried fruit
 1 cup cashews OR 1 cup other favorite nuts (be aware of children's potential allergy to peanuts)
 1 cup miniature M&M's chocolate candies (or other chocolate candy)
 1 cup peanut butter chips OR 1 cup butterscotch chips
 1 cup miniature pretzel twists OR 1 cup pretzel stick
Directions
1. Throw everything together in a sealed container.
Store in cool, dry area (to prevent melting of chocolate candies/chips and other soft ingredients).
