NORTH SHORE-LIJ HEALTH SYSTEM FOUNDATION
GREAT NECK, NY
POSITION:
Assistant Vice President, Strategic Communications
INTRODUCTION:
The North Shore-LIJ Health System was founded in 1997 with the merger of the North
Shore Health System and LIJ Medical Center, creating a healthcare network that now
includes 18 hospitals, The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, rehabilitation and
skilled nursing facilities, a home care network, a hospice network, and progressive care
centers offering a range of outpatient services.
The nation’s 14th-largest healthcare system, North Shore-LIJ delivers world-class clinical
care throughout the New York metropolitan area, pioneering research at The Feinstein
Institute for Medical Research and a visionary approach to medical education highlighted
by the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine. Headquartered in Great Neck, NY
and with a workforce of more than 54,000, North Shore-LIJ is the largest private
employer in New York State.
The North Shore-LIJ Health System Foundation is dedicated to helping donors, patients
and leaders link their vision and philanthropic support with North Shore-LIJ’s most
worthy causes. North Shore-LIJ Health System relies upon the generosity and vision of
community-minded individuals and corporations to help them provide the care our region
needs today, and plan for the care it will need tomorrow. Areas of Donations: Hospital,
Centers & Programs and Feinstein Research. With a service area of 7 million people, the
North Shore-LIJ Health System depends upon the benevolence of its generous supporters.
The Foundation’s role is to see that philanthropic support is transformed into gifts of
incalculable value: hearing for a child in need, a new lease on life for a heart patient, the
most advanced care for someone living with cancer, the resources for a scientist to
continue groundbreaking research.
