REPORTS TO: Laura Laub - Head of Communications Planning and Strategy SUMMARY: The Change Communications Lead will be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies to support New York Life’s large-scale change initiatives. As a senior strategic leader on the communications team, this person will play a pivotal role in driving the success of high profile communications related to ongoing change initiatives. The Communications Lead will ensure that the company-wide internal communications strategy will drive employee engagement in key business objectives, values and aspirations. Reporting to the Head of Communications Planning and Strategy with significant executive interaction, this individual will deliver on senior management’s goal to enhance strategic communications with employees to achieve a positive response to organizational change and transitions. RESPONSIBILITIES: o Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications plan in support of change management initiatives; create consistent, company-wide communications practices aligned with the corporate culture and employee engagement practices. Counsel and support executives as internal ambassadors for change initiatives. o Identify both internal and external stakeholders, while advising and supporting ongoing Stakeholder Management activities. o Identify and measure the critical success factors, in an ongoing manner, to assess the effectiveness of communications goals and objectives. o Apply and develop applicable organization corporate communication principles and protocols. o Enhance the company’s retention and engagement of the talent it needs to support growth. REQUIREMENTS: o Bachelor’s degree along with at least 10 years of experience in communications; combined corporate and agency experience preferred. o Understanding of communications practices and change management issues, particularly regarding the use of communications as a means of two-way engagement, by incorporating new "best practice" tools and approaches. o Prior experience participating in enterprise transformation understanding of critical success factors for large-scale change. initiatives and o Collaborative approach and track record of building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. o Proven track record of envisioning, planning, executing and measuring strategic employee communications programs. o Confidence in providing counsel to C-Suite and executive leadership team members. o Exceptional interpersonal and focused listening skills; ability to work quickly, thoughtfully and collaboratively with different personalities.
