Y1 Newsletter April 2015 Our Topic this half term is... How does your garden grow? We are now teaching from the New Primary Curriculum in all subjects. Below is the outline of our half term; although we have planned what will be taught each week, this can change over time as children take a shorter or longer time to meet each learning objective. Week 1 Literacy Numeracy Topic PE Book: Non-fiction book Plants. To write labels and sentences using plural noun suffixes. Time and dates To measure time in seconds, minutes and hours. Book: Percy the Park Keeper – After the Storm To write a story set in Chatsworth gardens. Book: Percy the Park Keeper – The Secret Path To sequence sentences and add story language. To identify and describe the basic structure of a variety of common flowering plants, including trees.
