EASTER SUNDAY (YEAR B)
5th April 2015
REFLECTION: These past ten days leading up to Easter Sunday have
been filled with much sadness and grief, shock and disappointment, both
locally and overseas! How can one explain the death of 150 people on the
mountain peaks of France in what seems now to be a deliberate act by one
fellow human being in control. (A relative of Fr. Clem’s is the next door
neighbour of the Australian mother and son killed in the plane crash).
OR the strange circumstances in the church fire at St. James, Brighton.
Paedophile priests are in the forefront of the media surrounding this and
other fires. Evil actions committed by adults in control have terrible
consequences if and when COMPASSION & MERCY are not expressed
properly or sought by people in need. Our hearts and prayers go out to all
those affected by the tragedies here and abroad, and to those many
families that we are caring for over these Easter days whose relatives have died in recent times.
An Easter statement that I hold onto dearly and finally share with you: No one person has it all
together, but together we have it all! Thank you to all involved in Holy Trinity Parish. Michael
May the great energy of the Risen Christ within you
empower you to live a life in peace and love.
Easter Blessings to you all

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
What a wonderful journey to Easter! Thank you to all the
Liturgy and Environment groups at St. Peter’s,
St. Paul’s & St. Catherine’s for the enormous of time they
have given to prepare the many liturgies and our three
churches for the Lent and Easter seasons.
A special thank you for the ongoing commitment to our music
groups for the enrichment they bring to our liturgies.
A very big thanks to all the people who readily “signed up” for jobs –
our Readers; Eucharist Ministers and other helpers – and came
to practices to ensure our liturgies flowed smoothly.
A special thanks to Sr. Delia who decorated all three Paschal Candles
at St. Peter’s, St. Paul’s & St. Catherine’s
Beautiful symbols of Christ’s resurrected presence amongst us.
We support the endeavours of the Royal Commission to bring healing to the victims of abuse.

EASTER SUNDAY (YEAR B)
GOSPEL
John 20: 1-9
It was very early on the first day of the week and still dark, when Mary of
Magdala came to the tomb. She saw that the stone had been moved away from
the tomb and came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one
Jesus loved. ‘They have taken the Lord out of the tomb’ she said ‘and we don’t
know where they have put him.’
So Peter set out with the other disciple to go to the tomb. They ran together,
but the other disciple, running faster than Peter, reached the tomb first; he
bent down and saw the linen cloths lying on the ground, but did not go in. Simon
Peter who was following now came up, went right into the tomb, saw the linen
cloths on the ground, and also the cloth that had been over his head; this was
not with the linen cloths but rolled up in a place by itself. Then the other
disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in; he saw and he believed.
Till this moment they had failed to understand the teaching of scripture, that
he must rise from the dead.
