This year we have been supporting efforts to celebrate Jeffers Hill’s 40 years of learning. Every student and staff member received a complimentary 40th anniversary T-shirt. We are anxiously awaiting the installation of the brand new digital sign that will help distinguish JHES in the community. Some of our achievements this year include: - quarterly cultural arts assemblies - 2nd grade bug lady ........4th grad rockets - clay for the art room ............stability balls - prizes for Turkey Trot - monthly newsletter...................bingo night - Pump-It-Up.........................Trunk-or-Treat - Staff treats and meals - School supplies and materials for staff - Back to school picnic, DJ Fun-K & treats Proposed Bylaw Changes: * Currently we have one vice president whose role is not clearly defined. The PTA board is proposing the changes below to the vice president position. 1) First vice president of fundraising will help coordinate fundraising programs and events to enable the local PTA to meets its stated objectives. 2) Second vice president of family programs will coordinate family programs and communications with the secretary and chair persons for each committee. Term Changes: • Current board members can only serve 2-one year terms. The board is proposing the change below. • PTA officers / board members can serve 3-one year terms, consecutive terms or a total of 3 terms. JHES Live Auction Friday, May 8th 7‐9:30pm Featuring: Performances by JHES musicians Free photo booth DJ Fun‐K for students Popcorn treats silent auction items including: Disney World Park Hopper Passes Travel packages Sports memorabilia American Girl Doll Gift certificates to local & regional restaurants, businesses……and incredible pottery created by JHES students & teachers Live Auction prizes including: special grade level lunch bunches and adventures, principal for the day, nail parties, art and computer classes, dancing, basketball and so much more! and……Concessions by 5th Grade Live Auction Items Below is a list of some of the exciting Live Auction items that will be available. Plan out your strategy, get together with friends, and make sure you go home a winner! Basketball with Mr. Vanisko and crew… Mr. DiMaggio, Mrs. Zachry, Mr. Dudek, Mr. Bogusz, Mr. Fritts and Mr. Vanisko will offer one hour of basketball for the winner and 9 of their friends (total of 10 students.) Announcer for Morning and Afternoon Announcements Fire Marshall Opportunity (Students would be responsible for a fire drill.) Dinner with Ms. Malcotti and Mrs. Strawhorn at Red Robin. Winning student gets to bring a friend. Mrs. Hartten & Mr. Hay Lunch bunch for winner and 3 friends! Includes... ‐Lunch picked up and brought to school from a choice of local restaurants Art Class with Mrs. Odom: 3 hours of art classes for up to 5 students Must be used before the end of the school year. Get the best seats in the house for the year’s biggest event: Spring Concert, Kindergarten Move‐up, Fifth grade Move‐up Hour of Code‐ Scratch (Basic) Winner can choose 2 friends to come and learn the basics of Scratch after school. Presented by, Mrs. Griffin Kindergarten team: Lunch bunch with up to 5 friends Enjoy arts & crafts with friends while enjoying your own lunch. Grade 1: Nail party for winner and 3 friends Grade 2: Cupcake Decorating Party for winner and 5 other friends. Will meet afterschool to decorate cupcakes with grade 2 teachers. Grade 3: Mall Scavenger Hunt for 2 Winners plus 3 kids/winner The scavenger hunt will consist of the students going through the mall and taking pictures of various items. The scavenger hunt will end with a tasty treat. Teachers will guide the two student teams. Grade 4: Movie Date and Popcorn for winner plus 5 friends. Grade 5: Winner and 2 friends will join team 5 teachers for an hour of bouncing and fun at Skyzone. Special Education Team Zumba Lunch Bunch for winner and 6 friends. PE teacher for a day and signed basketball from all three PE teachers.
