KC Softball Update It is with great regret that Curt Dresen has announced that he is
giving up the managing position for our KC softball team. It has been rough the past
few seasons, with very few wins. Several players have had to step down due to health
concerns. Curt would like to pass the bat and ball to someone else this season to step
up and recruit new players and manage the team. If no one steps up, he will inform
Jeff Skoug that the KC’s will not be playing this season. If someone is willing to recruit
new players and manage the team, please let Curt know. Cell # 608-345-5262. Many
“Thanks” to everyone who has played over the years. It has been a fun time and great
fellowship with our Brother Knights.
KC Council Chambers update- Over the last year, a KC committee was asked to
research what it would take to reasonably repair and update our KC chambers. We
have a crumbling wall we know about, wallpaper beginning to peel, non-functioning
windows, restrooms that are out of date, to name a few needs. The project will
include , but is not limited to, providing hot water in a restroom, electrical repair,
adding exit signs, adding two combination window units to allow for ventilation and
remove wood paneling and install new drywall with painted finish. A significant
amount of KC member labor will be needed to help control costs. The officers have
approved funding the project in the amount of $14,950. The proposal was presented
to the Council and a vote was taken and approved to proceed. Planning is now
underway on how to proceed with work schedules, where to hold meetings during
construction, lining up contractors, getting supplies, etc. More details will be coming
soon. Jim Tillman 849-3851, Jim Kluck 850-3020, Ed Gilkes 849-6596.
We are also looking for 1 or 2 more people to step up and help as leads for Waunafest.
Any extra help is greatly appreciated. Contact Dennis Hampton if you are interested.
