The tour commences at The Bishop’s Palace, the headquarters of Limerick Civic Trust. Here you will view The Hall of Fame Art Gallery by Dr Tom Ryan RHA. This tour identifies both native and exotic tree species in the park. Shrub and flower varities are discussed in this tranquil setting. The tour explores ten historical monuments and ghost stories allowing the visitor to experience this rich history The People’s Park has to offer since the 1840’s. A qualified guide will then take you through the medieval quarter. Landmarks include: The Bard of Thomond Monument, King John’s Castle, The Treaty Stone, The Toll House, The Medieval Walls of Limerick, Old St Munchin’s Church, its unique graveyard and The Villiers Alms Houses.
