The Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, University of the West Indies, has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and intends, through its Centre for Business Analytics and Intelligence (The Centre), to apply part of the proceeds to payments under the project Increasing Competitiveness through Business Analytics, for procuring the services of Consultancy firms/organizations. The goal of this project is to foster sustainable economic growth and enhance competitiveness in Trinidad and Tobago. The general objective of the project is to promote the awareness and adoption of Business Analytics solutions to improve the strategic planning, decision making and business processes of firms. The specific objectives are: (i) to better understand the current status quo of Business Analytics in firms across the country as well as the drivers and barriers for effective adoption of Business Analytics solutions; (ii) to increase awareness of Business Analytics and its link to competitiveness; (iii) to support implementation of Business Analytics tools in selected companies; and (iv) to contribute to the design of policies and programmes to promote the adoption of Business Analytics by firms. The project is conducted in two phases. In the first phase, a questionnaire-based survey was conducted to evaluate awareness, level of usage, attitude to adoption, and factors influencing adoption of business analytics at the firms. In the second phase, due to be completed by/before end-July, 2015, The Centre selected two Trinidad & Tobago firms (TTFs), through an open, transparent and competitive process based on clear selection criteria, for a pilot implementation of a Business Analytics solution with the aim of generating demonstration effect and knowledge on when and how these tools contribute to better decision-making in business strategy, management and/or operations, as well as guidelines and requirements for its implementation. The specific objectives of this Consultancy are to: 1. Develop a 2 day workshop at the end of which participants will: o Be able to explain what BAI is o Be able to provide examples of BAI’s link to competitiveness, with particular reference to companies in states such as T&T o Be able to interpret results of BAI Maturity Assessment Models o Be able to devise approaches to address roadblocks along the BAI Maturity development process o Become ‘change agents’ for BAI adoption 2. Execute the above-defined workshop The UWI Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business now invites eligible Consulting Firms/Organizations to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested Consulting Firms/Organizations must provide information establishing that they are qualified to perform the services. This information (no more than 10 pages) should include: 1. A brief description of the Consulting Firm/Organization 2. Estimated timeframes by which workshop can be developed and delivered 3. The Consulting Firm’s/Organization’s view of the critical success factors for delivery of the specific objectives 4. References of similar projects executed by the Consulting Firm/Organization. Such references to include scope of services, duration, most relevant results, budget (if not confidential), number of consultants used on team, and client contact. Consulting Firms/Organizations will be selected for the Training on Business Analytics for C-level executives and managers, in accordance with the procedures set out in the Inter-American Development Bank: Policies for the Selection and Contracting of Consultants financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (current edition) and the invitation is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the policies. These policies include the requirement that consultants be able to demonstrate evidence that they are legally eligible to work in IDB member countries (http://www.iadb.org/en/about-us/member-countries.6291.html).
