Rochester’s Most Prestigious Garage Sale Now Includes Saturday Talks
Rochester, NY, June 9, 2015 —Discover great bargains at Rochester’s most prestigious
garage sale! A tradition for more than 20 years, Art & Treasures features the best in gently
used antiques, artwork, jewelry, china, pottery, porcelain, silver, crystal, fine linens and small
furniture items. This year, the popular annual event takes place Thursday–Sunday, June 25–28
at the Memorial Art Gallery. Entry to the sale and two Saturday talks is free, with all sales
to benefit the Gallery. Or buy a ticket to Early Bird Night and shop ahead of the crowd.

NEW Talks (free!)
• S aturday, June 27, 11 am: H. Price Prazar, a retired educator who now specializes in antique appraisals, speaks
on “Treasures from Yesteryear vs. Today.” His topics will include Current Trends, What’s Hot, Craftsmanship
and Hand Work, and Brand New vs. Used. Prazar has worked with WXXI on its Antique Road Show program
and teaches classes on appraising antiques.
• S aturday, June 27, 1:30 pm: “Mansions of East Avenue.” Don Hall discusses East Avenue between Alexander
and Colby Streets, one of the best preserved gateway streets entering any city in the US. Through the use of
historic and contemporary photos, he’ll contrast vanished East Avenue with the present, including adaptive reuse
of many of its fine homes. Hall presents talks from coast to coast at such places as the Smithsonian Institution
and the LA County Museum of Art. He has also written extensively for publications including Maine Antique
Digest, Art & Antiques, Style 1900, Antique Review and Journal of the American Art Pottery Association.
