Living the Paschal Mystery
Belief always goes beyond what we can prove, and
often means we must go out on a limb. Belief in the
risen Lord means that we die to self so that we can
encounter the risen Jesus around us. This means, at
times, that we ourselves might have “nail marks” from
being wounded. Dying to self always runs the a risk of
being vulnerable. So it was with Jesus. Out of his
vulnerability, love, and self-giving came risen Life! So
it will be with us.
The challenge of this gospel is that we put aside our
own fears and embrace belief, with all its consequences.
Just as the risen Jesus was relentless in brining the
disciples from disbelief to belief, so is he with us. He is
also just as relentless with us as he was with the
disciples in bringing them to the cross. Even after his
resurrection, Jesus always challenges us to both dying
and rising. Having passed over from our Lenten
discipline to Easter rejoicing doesn't mean that we can
forget about the dying required for living the paschal
mystery. Now, however, our “seeing” is heightened:
we have experienced once again Easter joy, a glimpse
and promise of the fullness of Life to come. This
glimpse of the fullness of Life gives us the confidence
to believe, to live the Life given us now, to embrace the
risen Jesus.

As RE classes close for the year this week, please remember that all RE students are expected to be present. Progress Reports, graded Assessments, and the April Newsletter will be going home. Also, please take a moment to join me in
thanks to all of our catechists and classroom aides for a successful
year and wishes for a rest-filled summer! The ministry of catechesis
is important to the life and mission of any parish and those who participate in it should be commended for all of their hard work and
loyalty to the program. If you feel called to this important parish
ministry and would like to find out more about it, please contact

First Eucharist Class of 2015: Rehear sal for the Apr il 26 celebration will be held on Wednesday, April 22. Rehearsal for the May
3 celebration will be held on Wednesday, April 29. Rehearsal time
for both sessions is 6:00 pm in church. First Eucharist candidate and
at least one parent must attend.
Vacation Bible School – Save the Date for Camp Discovery! VBS will be held the week of August 3, 8:30 am – 12

Bake Sale
Relay For Life Team, Second Chances, is having a Bake
Sale after the Masses on Saturday, April 25, and Sunday, April 26. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer
Society to help End the Fight against Cancer.
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN PHASE II
Phase II of the Capital Campaign to build a Social Hall starts this
weekend … and your support and participation is needed.
Those parishioners who were not able to be a part of Phase I are
asked to help achieve our goal of raising $1 million needed to build
the hall.
Please listen to Fr. John’s message, stop in the Gathering Space after
Mass to get further information and speak with representatives of the
Campaign. And, when the information packet is received this week,
please read and study it, and, in prayer, consider supporting this

The Knights of Columbus St. David Council will be selling
beautiful Spring Flowers and various vegetable plants including tomatoes, peppers and herbs. The Knights will have tables in the gathering space with order forms after masses on
April 18 – 19 and April 25 – 26. Flowers can be picked up from
the church on Mothers day weekend after every mass.
The Knights of Columbus St. David Council will
be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner on April 18, from 4
PM to 8 PM in the Christ the Teacher Cafeteria. Cost of the event is $ 10.00 for Adults and $
6.00 for children under 12. There will be a cash bar for beer and
wine and there will be take-out available. Proceeds of this event will
go towards the St. Margaret of Scotland Social Hall. The Knights
will have a table in the gathering space on April 11 – 12 after all
masses for anyone interested in purchasing tickets in advance.
PARISH DRIVE FOR THE
POOR & NEEDY SCHEDULED
The SPRING 2015 PARISH DRIVE FOR THE POOR & NEEDY,
sponsored by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, will be held Sat. &
Sun., APRIL 25 - 26, 2015. Items accepted include, in GOOD
CONDITION ONLY, gently used clothing, furniture, house wares,
small appliances, toys, blankets, sheets etc., which will be donated to
Catholic Charities Catholic Thrift Shop. In addition, non-perishable
food and personal care items will be accepted for our Emergency
Food Closet. Donations will be accepted Sat. from 5pm – 7pm, and
Sun., from 8am – 12pm. Volunteers will be there to help load the
items onto the truck, and tax receipts will be available. For more

Tony Francia Memorial
Golf Tournament
St. Margaret’s annual Tony Francia Memorial Golf
Tournament will be held June 11, 2015 at Cavaliers Country Club in
Newark. The cost is $125 per golfer and the proceeds will be donated to our campaign to build a social hall. We had 89 golfers play last
year; our goal this year is 100 golfers. Golf committee members will
be available in the gathering space in a few weeks to register this
year’s participants. Come on out for a fun day on the links with your
fellow parishioners and help support the campaign for our social
hall!

2015 Annual Catholic Appeal
“He Reveals Himself in the
Breaking of the Bread”
The 2015 Annual Catholic Appeal will be conducted in parishes
throughout the diocese next weekend. Once a year, our Bishop asks
each of us to make a commitment to support the work of diocesan
programs and ministries that provide services that no one parish can
offer on its own. Your gift helps bring Christ to those who seek His
presence - the poor, the sick, the distressed, our children and our
elderly.
Our parish target is $106,000. Your financial support also provides
funding for our parish since [50%] or [100%] [depending upon your
parish’s obligation of a school] of monies collected above our target
will be returned for our own ministerial needs.
Please give prayerful consideration to your resources as well as the
thousands of individuals and families who receive needed assistance

BIC in Georgetown!
Building Intercultural Connections (B.I.C.), a program developed by
the U.S. Bishops’ Conference to provide church leaders with cultural
training for the growing diversity in the Church, will be presented on
Saturday, May 16 at St. Michael the Archangel, Georgetown from
10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Both conferences will conclude with a multi
-cultural mass.
The outstanding curriculum is thought provoking and challenging. One recent participant stated that BIC is the, "most informative
and honest conference I have ever attended."
Admission is free. A 5$ donation will be requested for a magnificent multi-cultural lunch. This conference is for clergy, religious,
