To All Residents of the North McRae Beach Community , Duclos Point Road and McRae Beach South [Answers to Frequently Asked Questions] The Estate of Thomas McRae owns the 2 parks on Blue Heron Drive and the Green Space on the east side of the road on McRae Beach South. The McRae family pays the taxes on these properties. These properties or any part of them cannot be built upon or sold. The two parks can however, be gifted to the Beach Association or the Township. The McRae Beach Association was incorporated in 1960. In order to keep these properties privately owned, the Beach Association agreed to take care of the maintenance and upkeep of the two parks [grass cutting, trees trimmed etc.] This has been ongoing for 54 years. These properties are for the use of all residents of McRae Beach. In fact, many of the beach residents have been volunteers on the Beach Executive at one time or another. Two current executive have volunteered their time over the last 16 years. Your membership in the McRae Beach Association is an important part of our continued role that the Association plays. Your membership ensures that we can provide a ready collective voice when needed, in order to meet our mission. As an Association, our overall goal is to maintain the recreational value of the McRae Beach community by protecting the ecological resources of the lake, actively promoting boat safety, organizing social and recreational activities and maintaining a positive working relationship with local government agencies. All current information you need to know is published in a newsletter delivered to Association members each spring which includes garbage collections, events, meeting dates and the names of the present executive.
