The International Conference of Police
Chaplains (ICPC) serves and provides training
to law enforcement chaplains (volunteer or
paid), officers, and agency administrators.
Training provides continuing education credits
(CEU), as well as equipping attendees to better
serve law enforcement officers, families, and
communities.

This seminar offers six (6) of the Basic Core
Courses and Enrichment Courses taught by
Detective Mitch Cowit and John Sullivan.
BIOS
Det. Mitch Cowit is a fulltime Detective with J ackson
Township Police Department, located in Ocean County
New Jersey and currently assigned to the Ocean County
Prosecutors Office Special Operations Group. He has
over 24 years of police related experience. Mitch’s specialty is in the Investigations and Drug Enforcement Unit
with specialization as a Hostage Crisis Negotiator. As a
Detective, Mitch gained not only practical work experience, but attended and graduated from numerous advanced specialized law enforcement programs which
include: New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice “Top
Gun”, Narcotics Investigation, Basic Crime Prevention,
Basic & Advanced Hostage Negotiations, FBI Hostage/
Crisis Negotiation, Homicide & Suspicious Death Investigations, and a Forensic Interview & Interrogation and
Method of Instruction. Mitch has expertise in Behavior
Analysis, Reading Body Language & using State Analysis Techniques. He has a 90% confession and conviction
rating from using these skills and has an excellent rapport
with people. He is considered one of the best interviewers in Law Enforcement by his colleagues throughout the
East Coast. He has appeared before the N.J. State Legislators to give testimony on the criminal mindset and behavior of pedophiles.
John Sullivan is a r etir ed Detective and College Pr ofessor with a Masters in Psychology and Forensic Studies. His teachings encompass the entire spectrum of criminal behavior and analysis. He has over 35 years of Investigations in Forensic Analysis and Criminal Behavior.
His expertise and instructions include: Reading Body
Language; Analyzing written and verbal statements; Interviewing; Reading Subconscious Pattern; and Analyzing Personality Types. He teaches Psychology at two
Colleges and a University.
