Workshop sessions:
Session One –
1. Excel I
This session will provide an introduction to spreadsheets and the practical uses and versatility of Excel.
2. Gangs Awareness: Fatal Choices
Gang membership is increasing at an alarming rate,
and so is the violence and illegal activity associated
with it. Gangs are no longer limited to urban areas.
They are flourishing in neighborhoods all over New
Jersey. Their activity – often criminal and extremely
violent – also leaves a wake of innocent victims.
Gangs are no longer just an inner-city phenomenon.
They have become a major problem that must be
recognized in the cities and suburbs alike. Lt. Torres
will provide an up-close and personal look at the
gangs actively recruiting our children and provide the
tools necessary to identify the colors, symbols, etc.
associated with gang membership.
3. Google Documents for Beginners
This session will provide an overview of the Google
Docs applications, discuss pros and cons of the ser-
vice as compared to traditional offline office software
such as Microsoft Word, and demonstrate the collaborative functionality of the suite. Participants will
be introduced to the basic functionalities of Google
Documents, presentations, and spreadsheets, as well
as the basics of sharing a Google Document. Finally,
participants will begin creation of their first Google
document.
4. How NOT to get Voted Off the Island
This workshop walks ESP members through the
jungle of their 8-hour workday and gives them tips
on how to navigate through the issues that can cost
them their careers.
5. Power School
This session will address the specific needs of secretaries and clerks
using Power School in their school district. It is intended to meet a
variety of needs specific to the participants.
6. XYZ’s of Retirement
A pension workshop covering all aspects of
retirement, including health benefits.
Session Two –

you to create, store and share instantly and securely
and collaborate online in real time. You create documents from scratch, upload existing documents,
spreadsheets and presentations. We will explore tools
to collaborate with your co-workers, including Google
